Episode 28 recap: Lin Zhi Hua engaged in a life-and-death struggle with Wang Lei.

Knowing that Wang Lei was the one who killed Hou Haiying, Lin Zhi Hua felt a mix of pain and madness, considering their past friendship and the unexpected appearance of Wang Lei, whom he had believed to be dead. In order to find Xu Wei Biao and force him to reveal Wang Lei's whereabouts, Lin Zhi Hua destroyed his shop and demanded a meeting. Xu Wei Biao claimed that Wang Lei had died long ago. However, upon learning that Wang Lei had not only become a drug dealer but also killed Hou Haiying, Xu Wei Biao went to the funeral parlor to find Wang Lei and realized that Wang Lei had sold his house due to financial problems. Xu Wei Biao regretted his own carelessness for not recognizing that Wang Lei was in trouble when he came to him earlier.

In his search for Wang Lei, Xu Wei Biao sought out his former comrades and instructed them to keep an eye on people involved in drug transactions. Meanwhile, Wang Lei succeeded once again in completing a task for Kun Ge and received a bag of money. He believed that this money would be enough to save An Fei Ya and considered quitting and returning to Russia.

However, Kun Ge sensed from Wang Lei's gaze that he was a wolf, not a dog that could be tamed. Kun Ge decided to sell Wang Lei to the police, and if the police failed to eliminate Wang Lei, he would take matters into his own hands. Xu Wei Biao's men spotted a drug dealer amidst the chaos of a bar and quickly apprehended him. This tough individual refused to confess, so Xu Wei Biao, desperate to find Wang Lei, resorted to using a box of beer bottles and repeatedly striking the person's head until he finally confessed.

Sun Haijie went to the police station to collect Hou Haiying's belongings, while Lin Zhi Hua, silent and holding onto the box that had been taken away, rushed into the archives room and retrieved Wang Lei's files. He informed everyone that Wang Lei was indeed the one who killed Hou Haiying and urged them to investigate the case promptly. The police had recently intensified their efforts to crack down on drug dealers, which affected Kun Ge's business. Based on his understanding of the police, Kun Ge believed that as long as the police caught someone as a scapegoat, they would relax their pursuit. However, Wang Lei was not someone he could easily sacrifice, so he ordered his subordinates to sell him out.

Lin Zhi Hua captured a group of people for interrogation at the police station, but these individuals were seasoned veterans who refused to confess to anything. Lin Zhi Hua instructed Sun Chu Cen to continue the interrogation while he attended to other matters. Sun Chu Cen noticed that Lin Zhi Hua hadn't slept for two days and grew concerned about his well-being. After preparing a cup of coffee for Lin Zhi Hua, Sun Chu Cen informed him that due to insufficient evidence, their superiors had denied approval for detaining the suspects. Unaware that it was already two o'clock in the morning, Lin Zhi Hua immediately decided to call their superiors to request permission.

Sun Chu Cen quickly reminded Lin Zhi Hua upon seeing the situation, understanding Lin Zhi Hua's feelings. However, Sun Chu Cen hoped that Lin Zhi Hua could remain rational, as Hou Haiying's death was not Lin Zhi Hua's fault. Sun Chu Cen couldn't comprehend the pain Lin Zhi Hua was going through, being a police officer himself while his friend Wang Lei killed their partner.

When Wang Lei went out to buy food and was spotted by the police, Lin Zhi Hua immediately went out to arrange for Wang Lei's arrest. Wang Lei noticed someone tailing him and quickly took refuge in an alley. The police officer responsible for surveillance informed Lin Zhi Hua and chased after Wang Lei. Lin Zhi Hua drove his car and rushed over, nearly colliding with Wang Lei, but Wang Lei reacted quickly and leaped over the car.

Lin Zhi Hua immediately got out of the car and gave chase, shouting Wang Lei's name and identifying himself as Hua Zi. They ran and chased each other, quickly getting far away. Wang Lei, with tears in his eyes, hid in a alley, thinking that Lin Zhi Hua would lose track of him. However, Lin Zhi Hua was emotionally disturbed and managed to find him.

At this moment, thunder rumbled in the sky, and it started raining. Lin Zhi Hua thought of Hou Haiying's death and angrily punched Wang Lei relentlessly. Wang Lei didn't fight back and collapsed, begging Lin Zhi Hua to let him go because there were still people who needed him. He promised to give Lin Zhi Hua an explanation and asked him to trust him one last time.

As a police officer, Lin Zhi Hua refused to let Wang Lei go no matter what. Taking advantage of the moment when he was helping Wang Lei up, Lin Zhi Hua handcuffed him. An Fei Ya was still waiting for Wang Lei, so he had to go back. Wang Lei immediately struggled with Lin Zhi Hua for the key. Lin Zhi Hua found an opportunity to kick the key through the wire mesh fence. With their hands handcuffed together, Wang Lei couldn't get the key no matter what and could only fight with Lin Zhi Hua. In the end, both of them ended up battered and bruised, falling to the ground with their handcuffed hands covered in blood.

Wang Lei forcibly broke his own hand to free himself from the handcuffs and struggled to get up. Lin Zhi Hua took out his gun and urged Wang Lei to come back with him. However, Wang Lei had reasons that compelled him to leave. He staggered forward, and Lin Zhi Hua, in anguish, fired a shot. But Wang Lei continued walking forward, rain washing over both of them, mixing with the blood flowing on the ground. Eventually, Wang Lei made it back to the hospital room and took An Fei Ya away.

Xu Wei Biao waited for Wang Lei at the entrance of the hospital. He used a car to take Wang Lei to a remote location far from Yanyang and bought him a ticket to return to Mohe. The two brothers bid a tearful farewell to each other.
