Burning Years ending (ep 30) recap & spoilers

Episode 30 recap: Xu Wei Biao and Zhang Peng sought revenge for Wang Lei with their lives.

When they were young, Zhang Peng let Xu Wei Biao carry Lin Zhi Hua on a bicycle on the street. However, the chain of the bicycle fell off shortly after they started riding. Zhang Peng took out a lock and locked the bike to a roadside pillar. Xu Wei Biao noticed that Zhang Peng only locked the pillar and didn't secure the bike, which made him think Zhang Peng was a bit foolish.

After Lin Zhi Hua, Zhang Peng, and Xu Wei Biao arrived at the restaurant, they saw Wang Lei waiting there and couldn't help but smile knowingly. Lin Zhi Hua was reminded of the past as he looked at the deceased Wang Lei in front of him, feeling particularly sad. He knew that this major drug trafficking case had far-reaching implications and had arranged for Lin Hong Mei to go abroad.

This time, Xu Wei Biao didn't avoid the situation. He watched as Lin Hong Mei packed her luggage and instructed her to contact him once she arrived overseas. He also told her to inform him if anything happened here, as he would take care of it for her. Lin Hong Mei, looking at Xu Wei Biao whom she had loved deeply, tearfully reminded him not to smoke so much and bid him farewell gently behind the cabinet, awaiting Lin Zhi Hua to come and pick her up.

Xu Wei Biao smoked his cigarette, his eyes becoming moist. He was reluctant to let go of Lin Hong Mei, but he had no choice but to do so. He made a special trip back to the shop and taught the ignorant child how to distinguish salt from sugar, telling him that he would have to rely on himself from now on. Xu Wei Biao quietly returned home. He knew that he had caused trouble for many people over the years. He packed all his valuable belongings into a box and left quickly after knocking on the door.

Xu Wei Biao tidied up his long and messy hair, and when the old brother Biao returned, the brothers eagerly awaited Xu Wei Biao's deployment. Kun Ge wanted to discuss business and didn't think Zhang Peng's clothes were decent enough. He had someone change Zhang Peng's clothes. Lin Zhi Hua couldn't hear Zhang Peng and Kun Ge's movements, but fortunately, they had already identified Kun Ge's vehicle. To avoid arousing suspicion, Lin Zhi Hua told Du Hang to go straight ahead while he followed Kun Ge to the funeral home.

The reason Kun Ge chose the funeral home was because it was gloomy and usually no one would come there. But he didn't expect that the photo displayed in the mourning hall would be Wang Lei's. Immediately, he decided to leave, but the main gate of the funeral home was closed. Xu Wei Biao came out to pay respects to Wang Lei and intended to bury everyone who came here today.

Kun Ge wasn't afraid of a large number of people. With a command, a group of subordinates wielding axes rushed in immediately. Xu Wei Biao drew the gun hidden at his waist, and Kun Ge also pulled out a gun. Both of them ruthlessly attacked the other's men, and for a while, the funeral home was filled with screams and blood everywhere.

Zhang Peng watched as Xu Wei Biao fearlessly fought to the death, murmuring for him to leave quickly. But Xu Wei Biao was determined to avenge Wang Lei and refused to back down. He carried his injuries and relentlessly pursued Kun Ge.

Kun Ge had run out of bullets in his handgun and had been shot in the leg by Xu Wei Biao. He quickly dragged his injured leg to find cover and reload his gun. Seizing the opportunity, he launched a surprise attack on Xu Wei Biao. Xu Wei Biao grabbed one of Kun Ge's men as a shield, but he was still shot by Kun Ge. Unwilling to give up the chase, Xu Wei Biao was knocked down by Kun Ge but fought back tenaciously. In the end, he was pinned down by Kun Ge on top of a corpse, who warned him that there was no need for them to kill each other. After all, their underworld existence wouldn't last long due to police interference. It would be better to spare their lives and have a proper burial.

Xu Wei Biao remained undeterred, using his head to confront Kun Ge head-on. The two engaged in another intense fight, and Xu Wei Biao, severely wounded, narrowly avoided being thrown into the cremation furnace by Kun Ge. It was Lin Zhi Hua who, disregarding the danger, rushed in with a gun, forcing Kun Ge to stop tormenting Xu Wei Biao.

Kun Ge still had many henchmen alive, and in order to kill Lin Zhi Hua, he promised to reward anyone who could eliminate him with three kilograms of drugs each. Xu Wei Biao watched as Lin Zhi Hua was knocked to the ground, feeling heartbroken, but by this point, he was too injured to even stand up, let alone save him.

Zhang Peng shot and killed several people, provoking Kun Ge's rage. Kun Ge immediately increased the reward to five kilograms of drugs, ordering his men to take care of Zhang Peng. Those crazed individuals rushed towards Zhang Peng, but he detonated a bomb, killing them.

Lin Zhi Hua and Xu Wei Biao felt heartbroken at the loss of their dear brother Zhang Peng. When they woke up from their unconscious state, Kun Ge had also regained consciousness and was reaching for his gun. Xu Wei Biao tapped into his inner strength and engaged in another struggle with Kun Ge. In the end, he gained the upper hand, pointing the gun at Kun Ge's head.

Seeing this, Lin Zhi Hua urged Xu Wei Biao to drop the gun and hand Kun Ge over to the police, wanting to save their last remaining brother. In the end, Xu Wei Biao pulled the trigger and killed Kun Ge. He handcuffed himself to Lin Zhi Hua, apologizing for the trouble he had caused him over the years, and peacefully rested in Lin Zhi Hua's embrace.

Many years later, Lin Zhi Hua, now in his fifties or sixties, drove past a tall tower. He climbed up deliberately, as if he could see Wang Lei, Zhang Peng, and Xu Wei Biao still waiting for him there, and he was still the young Lin Zhi Hua. (The end)
