Episode 9 recap: Song Yang was arrested and Wang Dali covered for him to escape.
Song Yang had a dream where Huang Xiaotao boarded a bus carrying a timed bomb. He hurriedly chased after her, but the bomb exploded instantly. Song Yang woke up from the dream only to find Wang Chao and the police surrounding him. Song Yang was taken to the police station as a suspect. Sun Hu and Wang Chao were in charge of interrogating him because Song Yang had been with Huang Xiaotao the whole day before the incident.
Upon learning about the explosion at Huang Xiaotao's house and her presumed death, Song Yang broke down. He shouted loudly for Sun Hu to release him, as he was certain that those people were responsible. Sun Hu remained silent and left the room, while Wang Chao grabbed Song Yang, urging him not to yell and informing him that he was now the prime suspect. Song Yang was locked up in a detention center, but he couldn't fall asleep no matter what he tried. The prison warden noticed that he was awake in the middle of the night and had him severely reprimanded by his subordinates.
Sun Bingxin came to see her father, Sun Hu, and reproached him for arresting Song Yang. She believed that Song Yang would never have killed Huang Xiaotao. Sun Hu told Sun Bingxin not to worry because imprisoning Song Yang was the safest option at the moment. Song Yang felt depressed in prison, and at that moment, a prison guard came to inform him that someone wanted to visit him. When Song Yang saw the visitor, he realized he didn't recognize him at all. Song Yang noticed the emblem on the person's wrist and forcefully asked if he had killed Huang Xiaotao. The person, however, told him that Huang Xiaotao wasn't dead at all. Song Yang lost control of his emotions and desperately questioned what had happened to Huang Xiaotao. The person discreetly handed him a small knife.
The prison guard witnessed Song Yang's agitation and used a stun baton to knock him unconscious. Song Yang only heard the person say, "Wait for me at Chinatown at noon today." Song Yang collapsed to the ground, and he had many dreams. He dreamt of his childhood self, his uncle Wang Dali, and even his grandfather, but none of them spoke to him. When he woke up, the inmates forced him to serve tea for the "Big Brother" among them. Song Yang splashed hot water on the Big Brother's face, leading to a severe beating from the other inmates. Song Yang swiftly pulled out the small knife and stabbed himself. The prison guard quickly took Song Yang to the hospital, but Song Yang suddenly grabbed the policeman's gun, forced them to get out of the car, and drove away at high speed.
Wang Dali went to the police station and asked Sun Hu to release Song Yang. However, upon learning about Song Yang's escape, Sun Hu was eager to go out and search for him, ignoring Wang Dali. Wang Dali vented his frustration, and Sun Bingxin approached him, getting into his car. Sun Bingxin called her father and learned about Song Yang's escape. Wang Dali hastily drove over, and as Song Yang passed by in his car, Wang Dali risked everything to block the police car. The police arrested Wang Dali and Sun Bingxin.
Song Yang arrived at the designated location mentioned by the person. A public telephone rang, and Song Yang answered. He learned that the second bomb was in Chinatown and was about to explode.
