Episode 24 recap: Ma Jia is unaware of her father's condition.

Today, Sun Shuang appears unhappy because she cannot see her only relative. Zhao Yi Cong learns that Sun Shuang's father spent his whole life working tirelessly, even to the point of losing his family. His wife remarried a foreigner, taking their son with her and never returning. Sun Shuang's father is now the only family she has left, but he made a regrettable decision in his desperation to save his company. As a result, he is now imprisoned, making it difficult for Sun Shuang to even see him.

Zhao Yi Cong promises Sun Shuang that he will always be there for her. He gathers the courage to put his arm around Sun Shuang's shoulder, and at that moment, fireworks light up the sky. Sun Shuang doesn't reject Zhao Yi Cong's gesture; she leans on his shoulder, displaying a happy smile.

While Peng Wei watches the fireworks by the seaside, he receives a phone call from his mother. She informs him that his wife has successfully given birth to a baby boy weighing over seven pounds. Peng Wei is overjoyed and celebrates with everyone around him. Ma Jia reminds Peng Wei to choose a name for the child. Considering his current mission in Africa, Peng Wei wants his son to be happy. Ma Jia suggests the name "Ma Lele," and Peng Wei happily decides to name his son Peng Lele. He excitedly goes to buy drinks for everyone, celebrating his new role as a father.

Ma Jia calls her father, who tries to hide the fact that he is in the hospital. He quickly retreats to the bathroom to answer the phone. Ma Jia realizes that her father doesn't want to spend the Lunar New Year with her and her brother's family. She decides to pick up her father and take him to Shuangqing after she returns, where she can take care of him. However, her father believes that there is a significant generation gap between young and elderly people and refuses Ma Jia's offer. He reminds her to call Liu Xiao Xian more often and not let the people who care about her feel neglected.

At that moment, someone knocks on the door, urging Ma's father. He quickly hangs up the phone, leaving Ma Jia puzzled. Today, they gather for a lunch together, and Ma Jia brings out a bag of pickled vegetables from China to share with everyone. The taste evokes nostalgia, and they wonder where Ma Jia got them. It turns out that one of Ma Jia's patients had just returned from China and brought a lot of pickled vegetables. They wanted Ma Jia to have more, but she intends to save some for other team members.

Suddenly, Di Mas rushes in to find Ma Jia, informing her that there is a patient with severe cerebral malaria in critical condition who urgently needs her help. Ma Jia doesn't have time to eat and rushes out to assess the situation. The hospital holds a meeting to discuss the patient's condition. Dr. Kang advocates for giving up because the patient is deeply comatose and suffering from severe kidney failure, making resuscitation efforts futile.

Ma Jia looks at the young patient's face and is unwilling to give up. She, along with Jiang Da Qiao, tries to persuade Kang Guo to continue treatment. Although Qi Dan advocates for giving up, he admires Ma Jia's courage and responsibility and ultimately supports her decision. Amadou is a severe cerebral malaria patient, and Kase Hospital doesn't have a dialysis machine, making dialysis impossible. Ma Jia and Jiang Da Qiao know that Mondelli has a dialysis machine, so they decide to transport Amadou there for dialysis. Without a ventilator, they can only use the most primitive method—using a peritoneal bag to maintain Amadou's breathing. By the time they reach Mondelli Hospital, their hands are trembling, and they are all exhausted.

After Amadou undergoes the first dialysis, his vital signs stabilize, and there is some improvement in electrolyte imbalance. Qi Dan and Kang Guo still have doubts, but Ma Jia insists on having Amadou undergo a second dialysis. Ma Jia knows that these few days are crucial for Amadou and stays at the hospital without resting. Finally, the day for Amadou's third dialysis arrives, but unfortunately, it coincides with the rainbow marathon, causing the entire street to be blocked, making it impossible for vehicles to pass through.

Ma Jia makes a quick decision and, with the help of traffic police, pushes the surgical cart along the street with her colleagues, finally managing to get Amadou to Mondelli Hospital on time. After a few days of treatment, Ma Jia's father's intestinal obstruction doesn't improve. The doctors decide to perform abdominal exploration surgery to determine the cause of the obstruction. Ma Jia's father is worried that she will be concerned and asks Liu Xiao Xian not to tell Ma Jia about it. However, the results of the exploration are not favorable, and Liu Xiao Xian is extremely anxious, constantly calling Ma Jia. But Ma Jia is still on her way to transporting Amadou to Mondelli and doesn't notice her phone's activity at all.

At this moment, Liu Xiao Xian blames Ma Jia. She tremblingly signs her name, looks at the long list of missed calls, and feels an overwhelming coldness in her heart. She waits silently outside the operating room. Ma Jia manages to get the patient into Mondelli Hospital within the last two minutes before the oxygen runs out. Exhausted, she sits in a chair and catches her breath. After a while, she hears the sound of a message notification, only then realizing that her father had a very successful surgery at Jiang Da. This surprises her.
