Episode 7 recap: Gu Ji Ming's past.
Years ago, Su Zhen Zhen was involved in a car accident, leaving her disabled. While still hospitalized, she felt desperate and attempted suicide by slitting her wrists. It was Gu Ji Ming who discovered her and called the doctor. Su Zhen Zhen's father asked Shang Lei to stay by Su Zhen Zhen's side, as she now needed someone to accompany her. Gu Ji Ming left Su Zhen Zhen's father (Su Zhe)'s business card, and a plan began to form in his mind.
Su Zhen Zhen's pottery shop was about to open. Jiang Guang Ming asked Shi Luo what people usually gift for a new store opening, and they went into the hotel together. To their surprise, Jiang Guang Ming's husband Xu Kang was there. It turned out that Jiang's mother had told him about Jiang Guang Ming's pregnancy, so he had taken a leave of absence to come and take care of her, knowing that Jiang Guang Ming would not give up work just because of the pregnancy.
Xu Kang booked a room next door, saying he would not interfere with her work, just cook for her and take care of her. In the evening, Jiang Guang Ming called her mother and asked why she had told Xu Kang about her pregnancy. Seeing her mother was about to lecture her again, she found an excuse to hang up the phone.
The opening of Su Zhen Zhen's pottery shop drew a large crowd, including Shang Lei. They had previously arranged a marriage for their children, but at the time, Shang Lei had seen Su Zhen Zhen lying on the hospital bed after the accident and had no interest in her. Now the situation was different. Su Zhen Zhen proudly introduced her fiancé, the famous writer Gu Ji Ming, to Shang Lei. Gu Ji Ming, aware of their past relationship, made a point of saying he loved Su Zhen Zhen in front of Shang Lei, which pleased Su Zhen Zhen.
Jiang Guang Ming and Shi Luo came to bring a housewarming gift, but did not stay long. Su Zhen Zhen asked Gu Ji Ming to see them off, and Jiang Guang Ming deliberately mentioned Jiang Na. Gu Ji Ming's quick response was to say he did not know her, which was precisely what Jiang Guang Ming had been suspecting.
Back at the hotel, Xu Kang had prepared soup and called both Jiang Guang Ming and Shi Luo to drink it, afraid that Jiang Guang Ming would not want to. During the soup drinking, Shi Luo accidentally discovered a magazine called "Nan Liu", which happened to be the magazine Gu Ji Ming had previously worked for.
The two people hurriedly took the magazine to the front desk and found out that the hotel did not subscribe to this magazine. The magazine belonged to Jiang Na, and it had an article written by her called "Wheat Ears". Jiang Na was very proud at the time, and she had used the pen name "Jiang Yin Lu" in the magazine.
The two people went to inquire about the magazine again, but found that the record of the submission was missing. The editor took the article and asked the other editors, and one of them remembered that the article had not been accepted. Comparing it with another magazine, they found that only page 35 was different. Based on the clues available, Gu Ji Ming and Jiang Na seemed to know each other.
A year ago, at a party, Gu Ji Ming had no fame, so he asked Su Zhen Zhen for help in proofreading his manuscript, but was rejected. He was then humiliated by Su Zhen Zhen's ex-boyfriend, which crushed his self-esteem. He sadly took his manuscript and went to his car, but found that the luxury car next to him was parked too close, and the driver refused to move it, looking down on him.
Gu Ji Ming struggled to climb through the car window, and the shame and anger made him cry. He saw Su Zhen Zhen and her ex-boyfriend driving away, and then he also started his car. On the way back, he found the car that had an accident, and quickly rescued Su Zhen Zhen.
Su Zhen Zhen was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, and the doctor said her leg was disabled. Gu Ji Ming went to visit her, and the disabled Su Zhen Zhen could not accept it, and her emotions collapsed. Su Zhen Zhen's father, Su Zhe, thanked Gu Ji Ming for saving his daughter and offered him a bank card as a gift, but Gu Ji Ming refused.
Su Zhe did not insist, and gave him his own business card. Su Zhen Zhen's boyfriend, Shang Lei, was willing to marry her, but he would not love a disabled her. Su Zhen Zhen angrily told him to leave, and then tried to commit suicide by cutting her wrists in the hospital ward. Fortunately, Gu Ji Ming came to visit her and saved her again.
Gu Ji Ming returned home and looked at Su Zhe's business card, deep in thought, as a plan began to form in his mind.
