Episode 2 recap: "Zhao Ruoci speaks for Liu Cai'nuo.
As attendants, Zhao Ruoci and the others have to learn the rules here. Cui Shangyi came over to teach them the rules, and mentioned that Guan Panpan is a distant relative of the Empress, so she will represent herself in managing these talented women. Guan Panpan commented on how Zhao Ruoci's bedding was so messy, questioning how she could serve the Emperor, and proceeded to step on Zhao Ruoci's bedding several times.
Zhao Ruoci suppressed her anger and promised to redo it. Guan Panpan took off Liu Cai'nuo's earrings, stating that as an attendant, she shouldn't wear such valuable jewelry. Liu Cai'nuo explained that it was her mother's heirloom and requested Guan Panpan to return it. Guan Panpan refused and called someone to remove Liu Cai'nuo's clothes to see if there was anything else.
Unable to bear it any longer, Zhao Ruoci stepped forward and stated that Liu Cai'nuo is already the Emperor's person, and if they really found something, it wouldn't benefit Cui Shangyi either. If Liu Cai'nuo couldn't bear it, she would be blamed by others. Guan Panpan claimed that it was Zhao Ruoci who told her that Liu Cai'nuo had something. Everyone else confirmed that Zhao Ruoci didn't leave, and that Guan Panpan was going too far. Liu Rufan also spoke up for Zhao Ruoci, and Cui Shangyi didn't dare to offend Liu Rufan, so she quickly left. Zhao Ruoci expressed gratitude to Liu Rufan, who said that it was Zhao Ruoci who first stood up to speak for them."
