Episode 6 recap: Zhao Ruoxi held the Xifang event.

Shufei explained that the Dongfang and Xifang events were activities organized by the palace. They invited merchants from the common people to come and buy things. The items sold here were some tribute products that the palace didn't need. The money earned from the sales would be used for disaster relief. Shufei mentioned that Li Zhaoyi organized the Dongfang event, while she herself organized the Xifang event. This year, she entrusted the management of the Xifang event to Zhao Ruoxi, and it had to be better than Li Zhaoyi's Dongfang event.

Zhao Ruoxi and Liu Rufan arrived at the Xifang area, but to their surprise, it was in a dilapidated state and had nothing inside. Zhao Ruoxi's maidservant mentioned that Shufei had sent Lu Meiren to help them. Two concubines from Li Zhaoyi's side came over to mock Zhao Ruoxi, believing that she would not be able to handle it and even made a bet with her. Chen Gonggong came over and claimed to be experienced in handling such matters. Zhao Ruoxi decided to entrust the task to him.

Liu Rufan remarked that Chen Gonggong was good at currying favor and very lazy. Zhao Ruoxi did not assign the task to him but instead took control in her own hands and directed everyone's work. Eight months ago, a palace eunuch accepted bribes and led the emperor to Lu Meiren. Lu Meiren was singing in the imperial garden, but the emperor found her annoying and ordered her to sing here for a whole day and night.

Lu Meiren quickly begged for mercy, but the emperor simply left.
