Episode 1 recap: He Jia Ru unexpectedly gets pregnant.
Ye Yi Fan (played by Qin Hao) is tasting birthday cakes at a bakery. He plans to buy one for his son, while his wife He Jia Ru (played by Jiang Xin) is discussing video topics with her colleagues. Suddenly, she feels nauseous. At that moment, Ye Yi Fan calls to inquire about preparations for their son Yue Le's birthday tonight. He Jia Ru has been so busy that she forgot about it. When she remembers, she hastily leaves work and goes home with Ye Yi Fan to prepare for their son's birthday.
Yue Le is eagerly looking forward to eating cake, but He Jia Ru suddenly feels queasy. To everyone's surprise, the cake Ye Yi Fan bought for Yue Le turns out to be very small. Ye Yi Fan tries to explain himself, but Yue Le feels upset.
Yue Le's grandmother tries to comfort him, while He Jia Ru, watching Yue Le cry sadly, blames Ye Yi Fan. After considering it for a while, Ye Yi Fan still believes they should change houses and endure a few more years of hardship. Everyone pretends not to hear and continues eating. Ye Yi Fan feels helpless.
In the evening, He Jia Ru and Ye Yi Fan accompany their mother to take a taxi. The taxi arrives at their destination, and the mother leaves first. When they return home, He Jia Ru continues to criticize her husband. She explicitly expresses her unwillingness to move to a new house, but Ye Yi Fan explains that they are doing it for their child. The child's school is too far away, and they have to leave an hour earlier every morning.
Hou Yuan Yuan is preparing to move back to her hometown because the child's household registration is not in the city, and they have to go back for the college entrance examination. While packing, Hou Yuan Yuan secretly puts a GPS tracker in the trunk without her husband Chen Li noticing, but He Jia Ru witnesses it all.
After returning home, He Jia Ru starts feeling nauseous and realizes something is wrong. She quickly takes a pregnancy test and is surprised to find out that she is pregnant. Ye Yi Fan asks her to try again, and deep down, he is actually quite happy. He Jia Ru tries twice, and both times the result shows two lines, confirming the pregnancy.
He Jia Ru knows that her project is about to launch and doesn't want to delay it. Ye Yi Fan, on the other hand, suggests not having the baby. This angers He Jia Ru, who thinks Ye Yi Fan is too decisive. In reality, Ye Yi Fan just wants to make her happy.
The next morning, Ye Yi Fan wakes up and quickly gets their son ready for kindergarten. He Jia Ru prepares a red envelope because even though it's her friend's second marriage, she still needs to give a gift. He Jia Ru hurries over, but everyone has already started eating. When her colleagues see her, they quickly ask her to join them.
In the end, it was too late, and He Jia Ru mistook the groom for the bride's father. The bride was actually He Jia Ru's boss, so she was very angry. He Jia Ru quickly apologized, but she had to drink alcohol. He Jia Ru stumbled back home and started telling her son about her childhood memories. The two of them were having a great time playing together.
When He Jia Ru returned to the room, Ye Yi Fan was doing a handstand. He said he had figured it out and suggested that they go to the hospital to have the child aborted. In reality, He Jia Ru hadn't been drinking alcohol. She had replaced it with plain water in the wine glass. Ye Yi Fan suddenly realized this.
Actually, Ye Yi Fan wanted He Jia Ru to keep the child, but He Jia Ru still hadn't made up her mind about whether to have the baby or not. He Jia Ru went to work early in the morning, and her boss Lv Jing and Manager Wu were discussing her project. Manager Wu was quite satisfied, but Lv Jing pointed out several flaws. However, Manager Wu told He Jia Ru not to make any changes and to continue preparing other projects.
Sometimes Lv Jing feels like she has raised a white-eyed wolf. After all, she was the one who brought He Jia Ru into the company. While taking the elevator to work, Ye Yi Fan encountered a colleague who farted. He couldn't help but tell his colleague and good friend Chen Li about it. He also told Chen Li that He Jia Ru was pregnant, but they still needed to go ahead with the house change.
Just after getting off work, He Jia Ru saw her good friend Tian Tian coming over with her child. Tian Tian looked dejected and said she had been deceived by her husband. She initially thought they were going to the mountains for self-cultivation, but it turned out to be a tough time. Tian Tian said she wanted to stay at He Jia Ru's place with her child for a while.
While they were still having dinner, they suddenly received a call from Ye Yi Fan, informing them that their son had been injured and was admitted to the hospital. They hurriedly went there and found out that Yue Le had a fishhook stuck in his buttocks by a classmate. The classmate's father suggested removing the fishhook without anesthesia, using a mud pack. However, Ye Yi Fan wouldn't let him touch his son. While their children were being treated, He Jia Ru hit the other father, and Tian Tian followed up with another blow, causing the other father to faint on the ground.
Ye Yi Fan learned from the doctor that the other father had pretended to faint, so he had Yue Le urinate into his nostrils, and the other father quickly regained consciousness. Tian Tian told He Jia Ru that she planned to divorce her husband and let Yue Le and her son attend an international school together to avoid such situations.
