Episode 5 recap: Tian Tian and You Nuo returned to the mountain to look for evidence.
Tian Tian informed He Jia Ru that all of her husband's assets had been mortgaged and it was highly likely that property transfer had taken place. Therefore, she needed to go back to the mountain and investigate the situation thoroughly. Tian Tian also told He Jia Ru to call the police immediately if anything unexpected happened.
After returning, He Jia Ru also informed Ye Yi Fan about the situation. Ye Yi Fan didn't believe that the property would be transferred, but the exact circumstances were still unclear. Hou Yuan Yuan and Chen Li had grown distant from each other for a long time. So, that night, Hou Yuan Yuan dressed up nicely, but when he was ready to go to bed, Chen Li was already asleep.
The next morning, Hou Yuan Yuan still prepared gifts for her daughter's teachers. After all, her daughter was a transfer student, and she wanted to ensure that she would be taken care of in the new school. However, the teachers rejected the gifts. Hou Yuan Yuan saw her daughter taking off her clothes because a chubby classmate was wearing the same outfit, so she scolded her daughter.
Back at home, Hou Yuan Yuan wanted to get close to Chen Li at night, but Chen Li pretended not to understand. Hou Yuan Yuan couldn't help but laugh. During this period, their daughter Jia Qi was having a hard time adjusting to the new environment in their hometown. She couldn't even eat properly. Because of this, Hou Yuan Yuan scolded her daughter again.
After returning home, Jia Qi pleaded with Chen Li to take her back. However, Chen Li hoped that their daughter would follow their arrangements since they didn't have their own house in the big city yet, and they couldn't transfer the household registration. You Nuo followed Tian Tian back to the mountain. They took a long journey, transferring from a bus to a tricycle, until they reached their destination. Tian Tian brought You Nuo back, and Tian Dong was waiting for them at the village entrance.
Tian Dong quickly fetched water for them to wash their faces. Tian Tian asked where her husband, Zhi Wen, had taken the money from their home and questioned if it was because he wanted a divorce that he transferred the assets. Tian Dong didn't answer the question but instead asked why she wanted to take their son away.
Tian Tian stated that as long as Tian Dong and herself left the mountain, they could still live a good life. However, if he insisted on staying on the mountain, they would get a divorce and she would demand half of the property.
Tian Dong, on the other hand, claimed that he was already bankrupt and had no money to divide. At first, Tian Tian didn't believe him, as she had been using credit cards recently. However, Tian Dong informed her that he wouldn't be able to pay them off starting from next month. Chen Li helped his daughter look at documents on the computer, and after finishing, he intended to check his wife's computer. At first, Jia Qi didn't realize what was happening, but later, when he hurriedly ran over, Chen Li had already seen the surveillance cameras in the house.
Jia Qi cried and told her father that she only found out about it recently. She hadn't told him because she was afraid her parents would argue about it. Chen Li comforted his daughter and assured her that he wouldn't blame her. During the days Chen Li wasn't at home, Ye Yi Fan had been helping take care of the pregnant cat whenever he had free time. Chen Li didn't want to be alone with his wife, so he purposely called Ye Yi Fan that night and pretended to have work matters to attend to. He quickly packed his things and prepared to leave the next morning, which left Hou Yuan Yuan feeling somewhat disappointed.
The next morning, Jia Qi didn't go to see off her father. Before leaving, Hou Yuan Yuan admonished her husband, and Jia Qi secretly took the GPS tracker hidden in the car and explicitly told her mother that she hadn't informed her father about it, so she should stop mentioning such things.
He Jia Ru wanted to go see a house, and Ding Bo Wen, as the real estate agent, personally went to pick her up. They then arrived at the community together to start house hunting. They looked at many properties, hoping to find a suitable one as soon as possible. The reason Tian Dong was willing to stay on the mountain was to help his son overcome internet addiction.
During this period, Tian Tian still didn't want to stay. So, while her husband was meditating, she and her son pretended to be injured and returned home to search for the keys. They could only secure the property once they had the keys. You Nuo still wanted to leave the mountain as soon as possible, but for now, Tian Tian could only comfort her son and plan to leave once they obtained the property.
