Episode 7 recap: Tang Yu wanted to win back Tang Xin.

Feeling upset after Tang Xin's resignation, Tang Yu sat alone in the office, absentmindedly stroking a cactus without feeling any pain. The janitor came in to clean, but Tang Yu remained silent. When the janitor was about to empty the trash bin, Tang Yu suddenly shouted at her, startling her into thinking she had done something wrong.

Huo Chen Dong happened to come to see Tang Yu for a work report and quickly dismissed the janitor. He noticed a half-written resignation letter sticking out of the trash bin and understood everything. The movie released last week by Time Cinema didn't perform well at the box office, which Tang Yu had anticipated. He instructed Huo Chen Dong to closely monitor the distribution department and strive to turn things around with a successful release next week.

Meanwhile, Tang Ding Ding was busy at home, writing addresses for a package she was about to send. When Tang Yu returned and saw her busy state, he curiously asked why she was sending books, especially since Tang Ding Ding wasn't known for being a bookworm. Tang Ding Ding was aware of the unpleasant situation between Tang Yu and Tang Xin and worried that Tang Yu would discover her support for Tang Xin. She honestly admitted her intentions, but surprisingly, Tang Yu didn't get angry. Instead, he willingly went to the kitchen to help prepare dinner.

During the meal, Tang Yu's parents didn't touch their chopsticks at all; they simply stared at Tang Yu, urging him to find a girlfriend and solve his single status. To divert the attention, Tang Yu deliberately brought up Tang Ding Ding's obsession with Huo Chen Dong. As expected, his parents became concerned about Tang Ding Ding and expressed their disapproval of her being with Huo Chen Dong. However, they didn't forget about Tang Yu's own situation.

Startlingly, Tang Ding Ding blurted out that Tang Yu had someone he liked, and their parents had even seen a photo of that person. This news delighted their mother, who quietly approached Tang Yu, eager to know who his love interest was. Frightened, Tang Yu quickly put away his phone, claiming he was full and needed to leave.

Tang Ding Ding went to see Tang Xin to have her books signed. Initially, they agreed on ten books, but Tang Xin suddenly reduced it to nine. Tang Xin curiously asked for the reason, only to find out that one book was intended for Tang Yu. However, Tang Yu already had a book given to him by Tang Xin, so Tang Ding Ding didn't want to give it to him. Unexpectedly, Tang Yu sent a message to Tang Ding Ding, requesting a new book, so she had no choice but to comply.

Tang Xin thought Tang Yu's behavior was foolish, so she drew a pig's head on the book. When Tang Yu received it, he remembered Tang Xin's comment about having a faceless boyfriend and how a pig's head could be a substitute for a face. It brought a smile to his face.

In order to reconcile with Tang Xin, Tang Yu learned from Mingzhu and sent her five red envelopes all at once. The constant notification sounds annoyed Tang Xin, and when she saw that Tang Yu suddenly sent her red envelopes, she responded with a question mark. The two exchanged only a few sentences and the conversation died off. Tang Yu, seeing that Tang Xin was ignoring him, called her, but Tang Xin mocked him and told him to go find a current employee before hanging up. Tang Yu felt helpless and couldn't help but sigh at how difficult it was to reconcile.

After much contemplation, Tang Yu decided to seek advice from Huo Chen Dong, who had the most relationship experience. He called Huo Chen Dong to his house late at night, scaring Huo Chen Dong into thinking something major had happened. When Huo Chen Dong learned that Tang Yu wanted to pursue Tang Xin, he advised him to cater to her preferences in order to achieve better results with less effort.

Tang Yu still had the strategy that Tang Xin had prepared to help him pursue Mingzhu, so he quickly took it out and studied it. Although Huo Chen Dong had known Tang Xin for many years, he wasn't familiar with her hobbies. The only thing he knew was that Tang Xin liked hitching rides. This reminded Tang Yu of what Tang Xin had done to get close to him in the past, so he imagined a scenario where Tang Xin would ride in his car. He kept refining the details to make it perfect, but each time Tang Xin would counter him with her words, leaving him extremely frustrated. He then shifted his focus to food, thinking that if he ate all the leftovers that Tang Xin didn't want, he would gain weight and lose his image. He changed his strategy to eating spicy food with her, but he couldn't handle the spice. In the end, he decided that he couldn't deceive people and immediately dragged the sleeping Huo Chen Dong out to ask him for more ideas.

When Tang Xin woke up, she saw Tang Yu cheering her on, and the comments below immediately exploded. Everyone speculated that Tang Yu wanted to snatch Tang Xin back along with the books, and the gossip spread like wildfire. Upon seeing this, Lu Zhi Xing worried that Tang Xin had actually run away with the contract, so he hastened the process to get Tang Xin on set.

In order to maintain a connection with Tang Xin, Tang Yu specifically investigated Lu Zhi Xing's production team and prepared to invest, but Huo Chen Dong believed that Tang Xin might not accept it.
