Episode 10 recap: Nan Yan Receives Lightning Strike to Protect Ji Yang

In episode 10, Nan Yan is alarmed when she hears that Zhu Sui has brought an anonymous letter to the Yangue Sect. She quickly arranges for Ji Yang to hide in the secluded Xiu Valley, even giving him her precious Silver Xiao Pearl to help him conceal himself. Ji Yang initially doesn't want to leave, but Nan Yan convinces him it's necessary to protect the entire sect.

Meanwhile, Mu Zhan Ting confronts Zhu Sui, refusing to let him search the cabinets. Zhu Sui believes someone is hiding inside and ultimately discovers a humorous portrait of Xuan Zai, which he burns in anger before leaving.

Elsewhere, Mo Xing Zheng and the others find Nan Yan's location in the woods. Though she cleverly deflects their questioning, Dao Sheng decides to make a public announcement, claiming Xiao Cang is hiding in the sect and offering a reward.

Fearing Ji Yang's exposure, Mu Zhan Ting steps forward and claims the writing was his, demonstrating Ji Yang's name. Nan Yan also states Ji Yang is merely a "medicine man" who is no longer at the sect. However, Zhu Sui remains suspicious, threatening Nan Yan with the truth-revealing Lightning.

In the tense confrontation, Ji Yang senses Nan Yan's danger and returns to rescue her, injuring Zhu Sui in the process. Just then, Meng Zhi Guang arrives, convincing Yin Ya to reveal Ji Yang's identity and defusing the situation.

Nan Yan is relieved to have only sustained minor injuries, and her cultivation has even advanced to the Cinnabar Core realm. Ji Yang thanks Meng Zhi Guang but decides he must leave the Yangue Sect for good, returning Nan Yan's pearl and bidding her farewell. Yin Ya, feeling guilty for implicating Nan Yan, tries to help heal her, but is confronted by the enraged Ji Yang, who accuses him of being the informant.
