Episode 11 recap: Ji Yang Departs from Nan Yan Without Farewell
In Episode 11, Meng Zhi Guang had a plan up his sleeve. He used Yin Ya's identity as a fox demon to create an illusion, making everyone think a little monster was causing trouble at the Yue Yue Sect, when in reality it was Lord Shao Cang who had arrived. This trick worked quite well, and Ji Yang managed to avoid detection. However, seeing Nan Yan so gravely injured, Ji Yang felt deeply guilty. In the end, he decided to slip away quietly, entrusting Nan Yan to Meng Zhi Guang's care.
When Nan Yan woke up, she noticed the silver dragon pearl around her neck was glowing again, and there was a letter left on the table - a letter from Ji Yang. The words in the letter evoked a complex mix of emotions in her, both moving and distressing. Mu Zhan Ting, seeing Nan Yan in this state, also felt uneasy. However, he suggested that with the Mid-Autumn Festival coming up, they should all celebrate together to lift their spirits.
Nan Yan then invited Mu Zhan Ting to come down the mountain to celebrate the festival and visit her mother. Mu Zhan Ting happily agreed. At this time, Yin Ya had disappeared, making Nan Yan worry that Ji Yang might have done something to her. Mu Zhan Ting reassured her that Ji Yang was not that kind of person. Soon, Meng Ying arrived, expressing no concern for Ji Yang's true identity and simply hoping Nan Yan would be well. She even brought handmade mooncakes as a gift, which Nan Yan gratefully accepted.
In truth, Ji Yang had not done anything to Yin Ya, and was even keeping her around, saying she might be useful in the future. Yin Ya tried to taunt Ji Yang about the parting at the Mid-Autumn Festival, but he just glared at her and warned her not to speak out of line. That night, Nan Yan held a wooden carving, her thoughts entirely on Ji Yang. Ji Yang, on his end, could sense Nan Yan's feelings and was deeply moved.
As for Nan Rao, she had suddenly disappeared. Meng Zhi Guang felt something was amiss and hurried over, only to find Nan Rao gravely ill. Nan Rao simply wished for Nan Yan to live freely and find her own happiness. When Mu Zhan Ting and Nan Yan went to look for Nan Rao's mother, they couldn't find her, but they did run into Meng Zhi Guang, who told them Nan Rao had passed away. Nan Yan was heartbroken. At this moment, Ji Yang appeared and comforted her, deepening their bond.
Nan Yan gave Ji Yang the silver dragon pearl, saying it would protect him in the Xiu Valley. She promised to properly repay him if he returned safely. Ji Yang was deeply moved and embraced Nan Yan tightly. Meanwhile, the sect master of the Tiexie Sect, Licheng, had the butterfly Duan forged into a demonic pill, and sent people disguised as the righteous to cause trouble in the Xiu Valley, hoping to destroy the Seven Floating Scriptures.
Nan Yan declined Meng Zhi Guang's invitation to return to the sect for the festival, saying she needed to keep vigil for her mother. She planned to enter the Xiu Valley the next day to find the Xue Xue Jin Zhi to make medicine for Ji Yang. Although worried, Meng Zhi Guang respected Nan Yan's decision, only repeatedly warning her and Mu Zhan Ting to be careful.
