Episode 19 recap: Ji Yang Asks Nan Yan to Exorcise his Demons
In episode 19, as Ji Yang approached to lend Nan Yan a hand, she immediately fainted at the sight of his familiar face. When Nan Yan regained consciousness, she found herself in a room being tended to by Yin Ya, and she was puzzled as to why she had seen Ji Yang.Yin Ya noticed Nan Yan's strange demeanor and mistakenly thought she was feeling unwell. Yin Ya believed Nan Yan had been so preoccupied with exorcism since boarding the ship that she had been neglecting her health, not eating or sleeping properly. Nan Yan admitted she had been quite anxious, but after Yin Ya left, she began to ponder the day's events.
Meanwhile, Ji Yang was also reflecting on his encounter with Nan Yan. Senluo could sense Ji Yang's inner joy, and reminded him that his grand mission was not yet complete, and he must not become distracted by romantic feelings. However, Ji Yang refused to acknowledge any affection for Nan Yan. When Senluo confronted him about his self-deception, Ji Yang became angered, and Senluo continued to stir up trouble, warning that Nan Yan may have intentionally lured Ji Yang closer in order to destroy him.
Afterward, Ji Yang sat nearby observing Nan Yan as she searched for him, and he revealed himself to her once more. Overjoyed, Nan Yan asked why he had not come to her, only to discover he had lost his memory. Upon hearing Nan Yan's name, Ji Yang recalled Meng Zhi Guang's final words, realizing she was the person he was meant to protect, which stirred unfamiliar feelings within him.
Despite Nan Yan's attempts to jog his memory, Ji Yang maintained he had no recollection, and was burdened by demonic energy. He told Nan Yan that after waking up, he had lost his memory, but felt a mysterious familiarity with her. Saddened, Nan Yan heard Ji Yang promise that even without his memories, he would never forget her name again.
Mu Zhan Ting insisted on going out, so Mu Guang Han, unable to restrain him, stated he would find a cultivator companion to manage Mu Zhan Ting's temperament, as they had already arrived in the Dragon Capital, and the two would soon meet. Mu Guang Han further emphasized that even if Mu Zhan Ting did not like this cultivator companion, he would search extensively for a suitable woman, much to Mu Zhan Ting's surprise.

Seeing Nan Yan's saddened expression, Ji Yang also felt pained. That night, Ji Yang and Nan Yan released sky lanterns together. Coincidentally, Yin Ya came by, and Nan Yan, not wanting Yin Ya to know about Ji Yang's cursed condition, quickly left with her.
Hearing Nan Yan call Yin Ya "little fox", Ji Yang couldn't help but feel jealous. He quietly followed behind and secretly played tricks on Yin Ya, causing her embarrassment. Although Nan Yan's attempt to restore Ji Yang's memories failed, she had accepted the Ji Yang before her, no matter if he remembered her or not - just having him alive was a great blessing.
Nan Yan asked Ji Yang about the Yanyue Sect's downfall, and Ji Yang truthfully told her. Nan Yan readily agreed to help exorcise the demon within him. But during the ritual, they encountered an obstacle, and Ji Yang, surrounded by demonic aura, attacked Nan Yan like a stranger.
