Episode 3 recap: Nan Yan Gives Ji Yang a Spiritual Bond
In Episode 3, Ji Yang discovered that the Spirit Talisman had done bad things through him, and he was furious. He directly rushed into the Spiritual Sea and gave the Spirit Talisman a severe beating, then decided to stay and recover first. Once the Impure Valley opened, he must find the two volumes of the Book of the Seven Floats, and also protect Nan Yan.
Just as he was thinking about this, there was a commotion outside. Nan Yan opened the door to find that Meng Ying and Fu Lang had come uninvited.
Though Fu Lang said he came to apologize, his attitude was not sincere at all. Meng Ying, on the other hand, misunderstood Nan Yan's relationship with her mother Nan Rao, and directly wanted to drive Nan Yan away. The two sides were about to come to blows, ready to use poison arts to compete, when suddenly Meng Ying felt unwell, and everyone suspected it was Nan Yan's doing.
But Nan Yan didn't defend herself, instead admitting that she was the one who did it, and even gave Meng Ying some medicine to make her feel better. This left Meng Ying confused, and her anger also dissipated. Watching from the side, Ji Yang was deeply impressed by Nan Yan's medical skills.
Back in the room, Ji Yang was eating the medicine meal Nan Yan had prepared, but when Nan Yan took a closer look, she saw that his body hadn't improved at all, making her suspicious that Ji Yang might be hiding something from her.
However, without evidence, she could only let it go. At this time, news spread that Shao Chao had been wanted, and Zhu Sui had brought the Heavenly Candle Fireflies to chase him to the Yueyang Sect. When Ji Yang was refining elixirs, he almost slipped up, and with the Heavenly Candle's appearance, he knew real danger had arrived.
In front of everyone, Fu Lang said that Shao Chao was hiding in Yueyang Town, and Nan Yan secretly looked at Ji Yang.
Mu Zhan Ting stepped forward to speak up for Shao Chao, and even accidentally revealed that he was the young master of the Dragon Capital. His sincerity in defending Shao Chao was evident, and Nan Yan's suspicion of Ji Yang gradually dissipated, instead being moved by Mu Zhan Ting's earnestness.
That night, Nan Yan continued to take care of Ji Yang, persuading him not to leave. Mu Zhan Ting expressed his gratitude to Nan Yan and also shared his determination to find Shao Chao, which also touched Nan Yan. Although Ji Yang's situation was difficult, with Nan Yan by his side, his heart felt much more at ease.
Nan Rao used a spirit message to summon Ji Yang, gave him the Cicada Dew Sorrowful Token as a symbol, and revealed her own identity to him. She could see that Nan Yan liked Ji Yang, so she planted a Spiritual Bond between Nan Yan and Ji Yang, entrusting Nan Yan to Ji Yang.
Ji Yang promised to protect Nan Yan, but also discovered that Nan Rao's own body was not well, so he planned to quietly leave after finding the Book of the Seven Floats.
But Nan Yan suddenly changed her mind, persuading Ji Yang to leave, afraid that he would face greater danger because of her. That Spiritual Bond was like a rope, binding the two of them together.
Seeing Nan Yan's resolute gaze, Ji Yang's heart was warmed and saddened. He knew that no matter how difficult the road ahead, he had to face it, for Nan Yan's sake, and for his own.
So, the relationship between Nan Yan and Ji Yang became more complex and subtle, oscillating between suspicion and trust. But they still had to face the stormy days ahead together. The true identity of Shao Chao and the battle for the Book of the Seven Floats were like a vast net, enveloping everyone involved.
