Episode 6 recap: The Green Tea Fox Vexes Ji Yang

In episode 6, Nan Yan rushed back to the bamboo forest in a panic. To her shock, the bodies of Dao Sheng Tian Men members were strewn all over the ground, and Ji Yang was sitting alone among them, his face deathly pale, clearly severely injured. Luckily, the quick-witted Nan Yan found some calming medicinal herbs and administered them to Ji Yang before nightfall.

Relieved to see Ji Yang recover, a weight was lifted from Nan Yan's heart. However, she had also sustained injuries while gathering the herbs. Despite his own weakness, Ji Yang insisted on tending to Nan Yan's wounds, and the two felt a new sense of closeness and unspoken understanding between them.

Nan Yan thought this was the perfect opportunity to discuss breaking the curse with Ji Yang. She specially prepared a hotpot dinner, hoping to discuss it over the meal. But to her disappointment, Ji Yang flatly refused to talk about it, leaving Nan Yan feeling Ji Yang was being cold and distant.

The next day, strange things started happening - Ji Yang was behaving oddly, eating and drinking excessively. Nan Yan grew worried. It was later revealed that Yin Ya had shapeshifted into Ji Yang's appearance to get close to Nan Yan and steal the Silver Flood Dragon Pearl. Mu Zhan Ting arrived in time to capture Yin Ya, but the crafty villain escaped.

Fu Lang and the others later intercepted Yin Ya, offering to let him stay if he did chores, but Yin Ya wasn't willing to cooperate. He even used illusions to attack Nan Yan in another attempt to steal the pearl. Ji Yang arrived just in time to drive Yin Ya away and warn him not to cause any more trouble.

Despite this, Nan Yan still took Yin Ya in, which left Ji Yang feeling disgruntled. The two men competed for Nan Yan's attention. When Nan Yan asked Yin Ya why he was so fixated on the pearl, he spun a tale about it reminding him of his late sister. Though Nan Yan sympathized, the pearl was too important to her, so she refused to give it to him. Yin Ya then sought Meng Zhi Guang's help to try and get rid of Ji Yang, but Nan Yan couldn't bear to see Ji Yang get hurt, so she made Yin Ya do chores in exchange for food instead.

Feeling increasingly jealous, Ji Yang found excuses to keep Nan Yan busy in the kitchen, reducing her time with Yin Ya. While Nan Yan found this awkward, she understood Ji Yang's intentions and agreed. Before leaving, she advised them to get along peacefully, but the two men were seething inside, maintaining a polite front while secretly competing behind the scenes.
