Episode 5 recap: He Yihuan and others are investigating Yun Yan.
Xuanming is currently injured and cannot suppress his desire for blood consumption. He recalls what Xuanming said before, that by being intimate with Xuanming, he can suppress the desire to consume blood. While He Yihuan and the others are investigating the Huangpizi demon, Xuanming notices demonic energy on Yun Yan, but he is not a demon himself. He Yihuan and the others come to inquire with the boss here, thinking they were sent by General Li to capture demons. The boss believes that Yun Yan is their signature item and insists they must help protect Yun Yan while exterminating demons.
When He Yihuan and the others ask about Yun Yan, the boss thinks General Li treats Yun Yan well, but Yun Yan doesn't like him. It's because there was someone named Yang Sanlang who previously stood up for Yun Yan and showed great respect for her, capturing Yun Yan's heart. However, this person was poor and later betrayed the country by colluding with the enemy during the border war, and fortunately, died there.
When He Yihuan and the others come to ask Yun Yan, she refuses to say anything. They secretly follow Yun Yan and discover that she is taking care of an elderly woman who is Yang Sanlang's mother. He Yihuan explains that they are not actually helping General Li, otherwise they wouldn't have come specifically to find Yun Yan. They hope Yun Yan can tell them the truth.
