Episode 3 recap: Hu Bayi and his companions began their maritime adventure.

Professor Chen came to bid farewell to Hu Bayi and the others. Hu Bayi showed him the broken jade disc he had sold to him and asked him to identify it. Professor Chen carefully pieced together the fragments of the ancient jade and finally assembled a complete pattern. He told Hu Bayi that this broken jade should be a product of the Zhou Dynasty and was likely used for ancient rituals. He also told Hu Bayi the origin of this jade.

In ancient times, there was a tribe called the Hate Tian Tribe. This tribe was skilled in metallurgy, and many bronze artifacts of the Shang Dynasty were produced by them. The jade piece was a ceremonial item used by the Hate Tian Tribe. However, the Hate Tian Tribe mysteriously disappeared during the Qing Dynasty. It was rumored that they were drawn into the Gui Xu, the gathering place of the world's waters and the "Eye of the South Sea," where the Coral Spiral was located. Professor Chen analyzed that this was probably the reason for the shipwreck.

After bidding farewell to Professor Chen, the group boarded the ship and began their journey. Shirley stood at the bow of the ship, watching the ghost ship plow through the waves. She felt that the name "Ghost Ship" didn't sound good, so Hu Bayi gave it a new and resounding name: Trident. After sailing for a while, Ruan Hei handed over the ship to Da Guangtou and took a stroll on the ship. He unexpectedly discovered that Duoling had secretly boarded the ship. In order not to delay the journey, Ruan Hei had no choice but to let her stay. The happiest person about Duoling's arrival was Wang Pangzi because Duoling was not only beautiful but also cooked delicious food.

Wang Pangzi was hungry at night, so he went to the kitchen to find something to eat. He was startled by a mouse, but Duoling treated the mouse as a friend. To appease Wang Pangzi, Duoling showed him her cooking skills. Wang Pangzi took a bite of the food Duoling made and suddenly stood still. Duoling thought he didn't like the taste of her cooking, but Wang Pangzi told her that he grew up eating his mother's food and he could taste his mother's flavor in Duoling's dishes. Gu Cai noticed that Wang Pangzi always leaned towards Duoling, and he suspected that Wang Pangzi had ulterior motives. He warned Duoling to stay away from Wang Pangzi, but Duoling believed that Wang Pangzi was a good person.

Hu Bayi stood at the bow of the ship, playing with the heavy machine gun. Shirley knew he had his own plans, and Hu Bayi didn't hide it from her. He just wanted to make some money and marry Shirley in a grand manner. Shirley rolled her eyes at him and deliberately said that nobody wanted to marry him. She also told Hu Bayi that he had to propose before marrying her, but Hu Bayi felt that Western rituals were not suitable for him.

Da Guangtou served as Ruan Hei's assistant. He steered the ship while singing excitedly. At this moment, two sailors he had contacted pointed a gun at his head and tapped his neck with a dagger, warning him not to forget the purpose of this journey. After the two sailors left, Da Guangtou's joy disappeared, and he felt a bit guilty towards Hu Bayi. Feeling upset, he turned to alcohol to drown his sorrows.

Shirley noticed that someone placed a bucket under the mast, which was considered unlucky when going to sea. She warned everyone to be careful. Hu Bayi went to the cockpit and saw that Da Guangtou was drunk. Although Da Guangtou boasted that drinking wouldn't affect his ability to sail, Hu Bayi still called Ruan Hei over and asked him to take the helm for Da Guangtou.

While Ruan Hei was sailing, Shirley stayed in the cockpit. She saw thick fog ahead and turned on the searchlight to illuminate the path ahead. At this moment, Shirley was surprised to see a ship suddenly appear in front of them, heading straight towards them. Shirley quickly instructed Ruan Hei to turn the helm to the right, and thanks to Ruan Hei's skillful navigation, they narrowly avoided the collision.

Ruan Hei glanced at the other ship and told Shirley that it was an ancient three-masted ship. Such ships were known as ghost ships, and there was no one on board. While they were talking, the ghost ship suddenly turned around. Ruan Hei couldn't evade it in time, and the two ships collided. Hu Bayi was worried that the lifeboat would be damaged because it was still of great use to them. So he asked Wang Pangzi to take control of the ghost ship. Wang Pangzi followed the ladder set up by Hu Bayi and climbed towards the other ship. At this moment, with the strong windand crashing waves, Wang Pangzi struggled to maintain his balance. He finally managed to reach the deck of the ghost ship and looked around in awe.

The ghost ship was eerie and filled with an inexplicable aura. The wooden planks creaked beneath Wang Pangzi's feet as he cautiously explored the vessel. The ship appeared to be deserted, with no signs of life anywhere. Wang Pangzi's footsteps echoed through the empty corridors as he made his way towards the helm.

As he approached the helm, a sudden gust of wind blew open a nearby door, revealing a dimly lit cabin. Curiosity got the better of Wang Pangzi, and he entered the cabin to investigate. Inside, he discovered a room filled with various artifacts and documents. The walls were adorned with faded paintings and maps, hinting at the ship's rich history.

Among the artifacts, Wang Pangzi found a journal written by a sailor who had been aboard the ghost ship. The journal described a tragic tale of a cursed voyage that had led to the ship's abandonment. It spoke of strange occurrences, crew members vanishing without a trace, and a pervasive sense of dread that had plagued the sailors.

As Wang Pangzi skimmed through the journal, he stumbled upon an entry that caught his attention. It mentioned a hidden treasure, rumored to be concealed deep within the Coral Spiral—the very place Hu Bayi and his companions were seeking. The entry provided cryptic clues and hinted at the significance of the broken jade disc that Hu Bayi possessed.

Realizing the potential importance of this information, Wang Pangzi quickly snapped pictures of the journal pages with his phone. He knew that sharing this discovery with Hu Bayi and the others would be crucial to their mission.

Leaving the cabin, Wang Pangzi continued his exploration of the ghost ship. He came across more clues and artifacts that further hinted at the ship's connection to the Coral Spiral and the lost Hate Tian Tribe. It became clear to him that their encounter with the ghost ship was not a mere coincidence but rather a pivotal moment in their quest.

After thoroughly searching the ship, Wang Pangzi made his way back to the helm. He took control of the ghost ship, steering it away from the Trident and back towards their intended course. Once the ships were separated, he signaled to Hu Bayi and the others that he had important information to share.

Back on the Trident, the crew eagerly gathered around Wang Pangzi as he recounted his findings from the ghost ship. He showed them the pictures he had taken of the journal, and together, they deciphered the cryptic clues. It became evident that their journey had taken an unexpected turn, intertwining ancient legends, curses, and hidden treasures.

With renewed determination, Hu Bayi and his companions set their sights on the Coral Spiral, now armed with the knowledge they had acquired. They knew that their adventure had become even more perilous, but the promise of uncovering the truth and discovering the treasure that lay within the depths of the Coral Spiral spurred them forward.

The sea stretched out before them, its mysteries beckoning. Hu Bayi, Shirley, Wang Pangzi, and the rest of the crew braced themselves for the challenges that awaited them, ready to face the unknown and confront the ancient secrets that lay hidden beneath the waves.
