Episode 5 recap: Hu Ba Yi and the others entered the Coral Spiral.
As the trident approached the Coral Spiral, the compass started malfunctioning, and the navigational lines on the instruments disappeared. Ruan Hei was unwilling to continue forward without the navigational lines, as they would be like deaf and blind. Upon arriving at the Coral Spiral, since there were only two diving bells, Hu Ba Yi and Ruan Hei descended into the depths of the sea individually.
Ruan Hei spotted a large fish approaching and urgently tried to warn Hu Ba Yi, but Hu Ba Yi couldn't hear him. The fish then launched an attack on him. The others criticized Ruan Hei for not saving Hu Ba Yi, but Ruan Hei felt he hadn't done anything wrong. A Hao questioned him, wondering if he would have abandoned Duo Ling if she had fallen into the water earlier. Ruan Hei didn't answer A Hao's question. Gu Cai and Duo Ling believed that if Duo Ling were in real danger, Ruan Hei would risk his own life to save her because, in Ruan Hei's heart, Duo Ling was like his own daughter. Gu Cai also treated Duo Ling as her own sister.
While Duo Ling was feeding her pet mouse Sweet Horn and chatting with Gu Cai, Sweet Horn suddenly disappeared into the ship's lower hold. In search of Sweet Horn, Duo Ling broke open the door to the lower hold, but before she could go down, Ruan Hei stopped her. Fatty wanted to go down to the lower hold and search for Sweet Horn on behalf of Duo Ling, but Ruan Hei refused to let him. The two of them started arguing.
Upon hearing the commotion, Hu Ba Yi and the others came over and upon learning the situation, they believed Ruan Hei was being excessive. Hu Ba Yi was about to force his way down, but Ruan Hei suddenly grabbed an axe nearby and assumed a determined stance, telling Hu Ba Yi that several British corpses were locked in the lower levels, where there were sea ghosts. If anyone dared to go down, he would fight them to the death.
Hu Ba Yi and Fatty joined forces to subdue Ruan Hei. They were about to go down to the lower hold to investigate when Shirley Yang pulled Hu Ba Yi aside. Hu Ba Yi initially thought that the ship belonged to them and Ruan Hei had come along with them, so he couldn't allow Ruan Hei to hide secrets on the ship. However, Shirley Yang urged him to respect Ruan Hei's beliefs and criticized Hu Ba Yi for not considering her feelings when he went diving to save someone. Seeing Shirley Yang's concern for him, Hu Ba Yi happily accepted the criticism.
As the trident approached the Coral Spiral, the compass started malfunctioning, and the navigational lines on the instruments disappeared. Ruan Hei was unwilling to continue forward without the navigational lines, as they would be like deaf and blind. The bald guy was also confused and honestly told Hu Ba Yi that when he claimed to have been to the Coral Spiral before, it was just a boast.
Hu Ba Yi didn't blame him but instead shifted his gaze to Shirley Yang. Shirley Yang took out a small fish tank from a nearby box and pointed to the fish inside, telling everyone that the fish was called the Celestial Fish and was used specifically for direction. The trident continued moving forward and entered the Coral Spiral. Besides strong winds and high waves, they also encountered thick fog. Hu Ba Yi assigned tasks to everyone, having them stand around the ship's hold and be vigilant of the surroundings to avoid colliding with coral reefs. They used Fatty's red underwear as a signaling tool.
After passing through the thick fog, Hu Ba Yi used his ancestral skills to locate the sunken ship. Since there were only two diving bells, he and Ruan Hei descended to the seabed individually. As soon as they reached the seabed, Ruan Hei spotted a large fish approaching and urgently tried to warn Hu Ba Yi, but Hu Ba Yi couldn't hear him. The fish then attacked Hu Ba Yi's diving bell.
