Episode 8 recap: A Hao and Da Li hijacked a boat for treasure.
Fatty told Hu Ba Yi that he had come all the way to the coral spiral just to take a look underwater, so that he could boast about it in the future. When Shirley Yang heard this, she offered her diving suit to him. After they went underwater, A Hao and Da Li quietly cut the rope, and then knocked out Duo Ling and Shirley Yang.
Da Li suspected that Hu Ba Yi had hidden the pearls in the lower deck, so he smashed the lock and went in. But as soon as he entered the lower deck, someone grabbed him by the neck. Following the instructions of the male lead, Ming Shu didn't leave the eerie fire until Ruan Hei and Gu Cai boarded the ship. Hu Ba Yi had heard Professor Chen mention that they had seen green light at the location of the sunken ship, which Hu Ba Yi analyzed to be the eerie fire. This indicated that the mirror of the ancient Qin Dynasty, the Da Qin Illuminating Ancient Mirror, should be in that area.
Hu Ba Yi carefully observed the eerie fire and noticed that it extinguished once it left the water's surface, indicating it was caused by underwater volcanic eruptions. Fatty felt that the eerie fire was too eerie, and since they had already obtained so much treasure, it would be better to quit while they were ahead. However, Hu Ba Yi disagreed. To dissuade Hu Ba Yi, Fatty deliberately brought up Shirley Yang and asked whether finding the Qin Wang Illuminating Bone Mirror was more important or marrying Shirley Yang was more important. Although Hu Ba Yi didn't explicitly say that Shirley Yang wasn't important, his choice to stay and continue searching indirectly answered Fatty's question. Shirley Yang overheard this outside the door and felt uneasy.
After the eerie fire went out, Hu Ba Yi instructed Ruan Hei to sail the boat to the eastern sea area. Shirley Yang stared at the small fish in the fish tank while lost in her thoughts, nearly causing the ship to veer off course.
At night, Da Li and A Hao couldn't sleep, so they started discussing robbing the pearls. Due to the large number of people on the other side, they decided to wait until Hu Ba Yi and the others went underwater before taking action.
The Triton arrived in the eastern sea area, and Fatty volunteered to go diving. He told Hu Ba Yi that he had come all the way to the coral spiral just to take a look underwater, so that he could boast about it in the future. Upon hearing this, Shirley Yang offered her diving suit to him. Ming Shu stayed on the ship because of a sudden bout of diarrhea.
After Hu Ba Yi and the others went underwater, A Hao and Da Li cut their ascending and descending ropes. They first subdued Duo Ling, and when Da Li attacked Shirley Yang, she happened to notice it. Da Li was no match for Shirley Yang and was almost defeated by her, but thanks to A Hao threatening Duo Ling, Da Li managed to knock her out while Shirley Yang was distracted.
After securely tying up Duo Ling and Shirley Yang, the two of them went to look for Ming Shu. Suddenly, Ming Shu held a knife to Da Li's neck, but before he could make a move, A Hao pointed a gun at Ming Shu's head. Under their coercion, Ming Shu piloted the ship back. As they watched the ship sail farther away, the two of them felt safe and began searching for the pearls. However, after searching for a long time, they couldn't find them. Da Li suspected that Hu Ba Yi had hidden the pearls in the lower deck. Just as he was about to search together with A Hao, he noticed the ship turning around. Thinking that Ming Shu was playing tricks, Da Li told A Hao to continue searching while he held the gun and returned to the cabin.
Duo Ling's father is the captain of the Mary Celeste (or was it the Trident? I can't remember). Ruan Hei found Duo Ling by the seaside, and at that time, Duo Ling was dressed exceptionally well. Ruan Hei decided to adopt Duo Ling and help her find her family.
That's why he needs a tremendous amount of money to send Duo Ling away. He believes that Duo Ling shouldn't suffer with him. Gu Cai was also found, but he is an orphan and a descendant of the Hatian Kingdom (neither Gu Cai nor Ruan Hei know this).
Ruan Hei thought he was just a fisherman's child. Ruan Hei, a wandering soul, raised both children and did his best. Please don't criticize Ruan Hei. He just struggles with expressing himself, and he's about to go offline soon.
