Episode 4 recap: Tang Wanwan pretended to be ill, exposing Tang Yiner's true intentions.
Unexpectedly, Tang Yiner was seen on a date with a man, and they had to hide. Tang Yiner's mother did not expect things to turn out this way and could only plead with Tang Wanwan not to reveal the truth. Xiao Xuanyi's subordinate learned about Tang Yiner's connection with several outlaws and asked if they should take care of it. Xiao Xuanyi said there was no need, as Tang Wanwan's affairs had nothing to do with him.
Tang Wanwan was knocked unconscious and buried alive, but Xiao Xuanyi came to rescue her. When Tang Yiner saw Tang Wanwan, she mentioned hearing about a pair of Mandarin Duck jade pendants that Tang Wanwan possessed, symbolizing an inseparable bond in life and afterlife, and she asked if she could have half of it. Tang Wanwan recalled her previous agreement with Xiao Xuanyi and said she would give it to him when they got married. Tang Wanwan was pushed into the lake, but it was Xiao Xuanyi who came to save him.
Tang Wanwan asked Xiao Xuanyi to change his clothes and urged him to leave quickly. When Tang Wanwan's father heard the voices, he asked who Tang Wanwan was talking to, and Tang Wanwan replied that she was studying. After Xiao Xuanyi returned, he heard that Tang Wanwan had fallen ill and was bedridden, suspecting that Tang Wanwan was up to something. Upon hearing someone say that the dead hold grudges and seek revenge on those who harmed them, Tang Yiner became frightened.
Tang Yiner encountered a masked person seeking revenge and quickly denied being the one who killed her, revealing that it was her own mother who buried her alive. Unexpectedly, both Tang Wanwan and her father appeared.
