Episode 2 recap: Li Zichen owes twenty taels of silver in order to save Chi Yue.
Chi Yue initially thought she was on a film set, but when she stepped outside and took a look, she realized there were no cameras or any traces of modernity. This made her realize that she had truly traveled back to ancient times. When she heard Li Zixi calling her "mother," she fainted on the spot. Li Ziqiang, Li Zichen, and Li Zixi helped Chi Yue onto the bed. The three of them furrowed their brows as they looked at the unconscious Chi Yue. Li Ziqiang didn't want to save her because of how poorly she treated them in the past, but Li Zichen disagreed. She understood that if Chi Yue died, Uncle would definitely take away their house, leaving them with nowhere to go. So she convinced Li Ziqiang to go ask the doctor for help. Unexpectedly, the doctor demanded twenty taels of silver to save Chi Yue, but they didn't have any money at home, putting them in a difficult situation.
At that moment, Uncle voluntarily offered to pay the twenty taels, but he wanted Li Zichen to write an IOU. As soon as the doctor left, Uncle started taking away valuable items from the house, claiming it was the interest for the twenty taels. When Chi Yue woke up, she saw Uncle and his men taking things away. Li Zichen couldn't stop Uncle anymore, and to her surprise, Uncle provoked Chi Yue. Chi Yue gave him a slap, shocking him, and he quickly left with his men.
Chi Yue had never experienced life in ancient times before. When she wanted to go to the outhouse, she didn't know what to use to clean herself. So she sought advice from her three children. Li Ziqiang thought she was pretending and didn't want to pay attention to her. Kind-hearted Li Zixi handed her a piece of wooden stick, indicating that she should use it. Chi Yue couldn't help but exclaim, "A shit-stirring stick."
