Episode 10 recap: The green sparrow stole the jade pendant.
Upon receiving information from his military advisor, Yunhuan discovered that his water pouch had indeed been tampered with by the green sparrow. He realized that the whole scene in the bamboo forest was orchestrated by the green sparrow herself. He further deduced that the green sparrow wanted half of his jade pendant. In response, he devised a plan to let his advisor walk past the green sparrow with his clothes and the jade pendant, which would tempt the green sparrow to use her token to steal the pendant. This would then lead them to Yan Xun Cang's whereabouts.
Before Yunhuan found her, the green sparrow had conspired with Yan Xun Cang. They planned to make Yunhuan obedient by using a powerful Gu called "Tongxin Gu," which would make him completely devoted once infected. The green sparrow knew that the Gu would only take effect if there was a genuine affection between them. However, she felt uncertain because Yunhuan had not succumbed to Qingcheng's love potion in their previous encounter. Yan Xun Cang had great confidence in his Tongxin Gu and gave a portion of it to the green sparrow, instructing her to apply it to her lips and transfer it to Yunhuan through a kiss, ensuring a partial success.
Suddenly, Yunhuan arrived at her location. The green sparrow quickly hid in the background. Yunhuan first mentioned her rendezvous with Yan Xun Cang, then interrogated him about his relationship with her. Seeing Yunhuan about to chop off Yan Xun Cang's prized hands, the green sparrow couldn't bear it and revealed herself to stop him. Yunhuan, filled with anger over the green sparrow stealing his jade pendant for Yan Xun Cang, ordered his men to search Yan Xun Cang while he personally searched the green sparrow. This greatly displeased the green sparrow, who criticized Yunhuan for disregarding her identity as the wife of Duke Wang. However, Yunhuan accused the green sparrow of meeting another man privately and drew his sword, threatening to kill Yan Xun Cang. The green sparrow finally admitted to her past relationship with Yan Xun Cang.
