Episode 22 recap: Qingque deliberately adopted a hostile attitude towards Yunhuan.
When Qingque noticed Zhao Lishi secretly watching, she handed a token from Muwang to Yunhuan, while gesturing with her hand to indicate Yunhuan's understanding. Yunhuan, still understanding Qingque's intentions, proceeded to the private army camp as usual. The more Qingque thought about it after returning to her room, the more something seemed off. She couldn't figure out why Muwang, who had clearly woken up, would continue to keep a low profile, while Zhao Lishi was keeping an eye on Yunhuan's private army camp at this time. Therefore, Qingque decided to take a risky move and go ahead to lodge a complaint with Muwang, stating that she had already reported Yunhuan's private army to the Inspectorate.
When Zhao Lishi learned that Qingque had beaten him to the complaint, he did not go to the Inspectorate. As soon as Yunhuan returned, he held one of Qingque's hairpins in his hand, fiercely indicating that he would hold accountable the person who made the complaint. Zhao Lishi had been observing from the shadows, and upon hearing this, he quietly paid attention. Seeing that Yunhuan indeed called Qingque over, soon cries of agony could be heard from the room. Zhao Lishi quickly reported the situation to Muwang.
Upon learning that Yunhuan dared to lay hands on his woman and beat her so brutally, Muwang was so enraged that he no longer cared about pretending to be ill. He quickly grabbed his cane and went to support Qingque. Yunhuan thought that Qingque's cries of agony had no effect, but he didn't expect Muwang to actually come. Fortunately, he had applied rouge to the corner of Qingque's mouth in advance, making it appear as if she had been struck and was bleeding.
As Yunhuan's father-in-law, Muwang first reprimanded Yunhuan, and then had Zhao Lishi punish him, giving Yunhuan a severe beating.
