Episode 3 recap: Cloud Huan's injuries were compounded.
Qingque, knowing that she would serve Mu Wang tonight, was filled with panic. She secretly grasped a dagger in her hand, intending to kill him as soon as Mu Wang arrived. Unexpectedly, Cloud Huan, in order to prevent Qingque from being dishonored tonight, pretended to be an assassin and interrogated Mu Wang about the whereabouts of the treasury silver. Suddenly, Mu Wang made a move and stabbed Cloud Huan. In response, Cloud Huan immediately counterattacked and struck Mu Wang with a sword. At that moment, someone in the royal residence shouted to catch the assassin, and Cloud Huan immediately sneaked into Qingque's room.
Upon seeing that it was Cloud Huan who entered, Qingque noticed the red mark on his hand, which reminded her of the scene when she bid farewell to Cloud Huan with deep affection before he went to war. Cloud Huan claimed that he had come to pursue the assassin, but in reality, he was prepared to attack Mu Wang. At that moment, a real assassin attacked, and Cloud Huan took a dart to protect Mu Wang. The dart hit his chest, where he had been injured by Mu Wang before. Immediately, Cloud Huan pulled out the dart and chased after the assassin, only to find Qingque waiting for him.
