Episode 2 recap: Song Xing Chen arrived at the rescue team.
Su Qing Che was also shopping at the supermarket and accidentally bumped into a sanitary pad, quickly picking it up. Song Xing Chen happened to see this and mistakenly thought that Su Qing Che was buying sanitary pads for his girlfriend. Song Xing Chen commented that it was not good character for someone who already had a girlfriend to go on blind dates.
During the blind date, Song Xing Chen mentioned that he was no longer a doctor. When Su Qing Che returned home, his grandfather asked how the blind date went. Su Qing Che said it wasn't suitable, but his grandfather couldn't understand why since one was a rescuer and the other was a doctor, one saving lives and the other treating injuries. Su Qing Che explained that Song Xing Chen had given up being a doctor and opened a women's products store. His grandfather didn't say much after that.
The matchmaker called Song Xing Chen's mother and spoke ill of Song Xing Chen, saying that she was doing things that she couldn't even mention. Song Xing Chen happened to hear this upon returning and mocked Su Qing Che before hanging up the phone. Song Xing Chen's mother asked her to explain what was going on, and Song Xing Chen explained that she had quit her job.
Song Xing Chen's mother was shocked and couldn't believe that Song Xing Chen would do such a thing. She believed that if Song Xing Chen wanted to help a friend, she could have just invested money, but quitting her job was too much. Song Xing Chen ignored her mother and believed it was her own choice, knowing what she was doing.
When Su Qing Che arrived at the team, two colleagues happened to come back from their run, and one of them suddenly collapsed. The other colleague thought it was an asthma attack and used an inhaler, but it didn't work. Su Qing Che called for an ambulance because it turned out the collapse was due to excessive breathing caused by intense running. Simply covering the person's mouth and nose would have been enough, and it could have been a serious delay.
The other colleague felt guilty, but Su Qing Che didn't blame him and told him to go back first.
After this incident, Su Qing Che also realized that their team had a severe lack of first aid knowledge. He approached the medical school to discuss collaboration and requested that they send instructors to educate everyone on first aid.
Song Xing Chen went to the school to meet the dean, who was pleased to hear that she wanted to further her education. The dean provided Song Xing Chen with an application form, stating that her visit was an excellent opportunity since they knew she had always wanted to join the rescue team. Song Xing Chen reported to the Polar Night Rescue Team and was surprised to see Su Qing Che there, realizing that he was indeed the team captain, which made her feel embarrassed.
Su Qing Che gathered everyone together and explained that since they were here, they had to follow the rules and he would lead their training. He instructed everyone to bring out any prohibited items from the dormitory, assuring them that they would be returned after the training. Su Qing Che noticed a beauty device in Song Xing Chen's belongings and took it, mistaking it for something else. However, Song Xing Chen clarified that Su Qing Che misunderstood.
During Song Xing Chen's class, a power outage occurred unexpectedly, and she accidentally detached the head of a human body model. A female student saw a skull and screamed in fright. Startled, Song Xing Chen jumped onto Su Qing Che, accidentally scratching his shoulder with her manicured nails.
Song Xing Chen approached Su Qing Che to apply medicine on his wound. Su Qing Che wanted to trim his nails, but Song Xing Chen disagreed, mentioning that after being a doctor for many years, she had finally managed to grow her nails. Su Qing Che took a photo and sent it to Lu Qun, but unexpectedly, Lu Qun also recognized Song Xing Chen, causing him to feel frustrated.
After returning, Song Xing Chen decided to cut her nails, realizing that Su Qing Che's argument had some merit. She acknowledged that she had indeed scratched him. While practicing archery on the training ground, Su Qing Che happened to witness Song Xing Chen's impressive skills.
