Episode 8 recap: Xiao Yan mastered a new combat technique, and Hu Jia expressed his feelings to Gu Yao.

Xiao Yan intensified his training. He wanted to merge the two different kinds of Heavenly Flames within him to enhance his combat skills. However, controlling the recently subdued Fallen Heart Flame proved difficult for him. He grew anxious because he was only at the initial stage of the Dou Wang realm, while Yun Shan had already reached the peak of the Dou Huang realm, creating a significant disparity between them.

Xun Er encouraged him not to lose heart. Although Yun Shan was a Dou Huang, both Xiao Yan and Xun Er were Dou Wangs, so they still had a chance in the upcoming battle. Yao Chen helped Xiao Yan analyze the situation and concluded that with his current strength, challenging the Yun Shan Sect alone would be extremely challenging, with little chance of success. Xun Er's reasoning made sense, and they decided to attempt the battle together.

However, Xiao Yan was unwilling to put Xun Er in danger. He knew that going to the Yun Shan Sect this time would be a matter of life and death. Seeing Xiao Yan's determination, Yao Chen suggested they train together as master and disciple to refine their fusion of the two different Heavenly Flames into a new combat technique. Gu Yao received news that the Yun Shan Sect had issued a statement, declaring their intention to publicly kill Xiao Zhan within ten days.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Yan was filled with anger. He punched the wall, causing blood to stream from his hand. The Yun Shan Sect had taken their actions too far! From that moment on, Xiao Yan trained even harder. To accompany him in his training, Xun Er arranged for Gu Yao, who possessed exceptional combat skills, to be his sparring partner. However, due to Xiao Yan's impatience and restlessness, despite his relentless practice, he couldn't defeat Gu Yao.

Observing Xiao Yan's current state of impatience, Xun Er personally stepped in to spar with him, attempting to calm his restlessness. Xiao Yan also acknowledged that his greatest enemy at that moment was himself and reminded himself to stay calm. With perseverance, after numerous training sessions, Xiao Yan finally succeeded in merging the two different Heavenly Flames into a dual-colored Flame Lotus. However, Yao Chen was not satisfied and lent his Bone Spirit's Cold Fire to Xiao Yan, urging him to take it further and refine it into three types of Flame Lotus.

Yao Chen informed Xiao Yan that he would be the first young person in history to possess three different Heavenly Flames simultaneously. No one had ever achieved this before, so he would have to figure it out through his own experience. Yao Chen gave Xiao Yan Blood Lotus Pills, Qi-Returning Pills, and Foundation-Constructing Spiritual Liquid, instructing him to cultivate his state of mind and achieve unity between the self and the surroundings.

Xiao Yan was inspired by a mixture of three types of pills. Under Yao Chen's guidance, he activated the Heavenly Flame using the Burning Technique and then withdrew the Dou Qi of the Burning Technique repeatedly in practice. Eventually, he found a method to merge the Heavenly Flame. During the process, Yao Chen blocked a lot of violent energy for him, which made his training go smoothly. Xiao Yan named his newly merged Heavenly Flame the "Liu Li Lian Xin Fire."

Yao Chen was delighted and told Xiao Yan that he was now the first person in the Gamma Empire to create his own combat technique and create a new Heavenly Flame. Xiao Yan was filled with confidence. He also had a name in mind for the merged fire that combined the Liu Li Lian Xin Fire and the Bone Spirit's Cold Fire: "Injustice in the World, Furious Vajra Eyes." He was determined to seek justice from the Yun Shan Sect, and he named this merged fire the "Angry Buddha Fire Lotus."

Yao Chen reminded Xiao Yan to control the time when the two different Heavenly Flames would simultaneously take effect. Xiao Yan told Xun Er that he had successfully merged the flames into a three-colored fire. Xun Er expressed her determination to accompany him through life and death. Xiao Yan was worried about Xun Er's safety, but seeing her firm resolve, he reluctantly agreed.

Xun Er happily went to bid farewell to the dean and her classmates. Xiao Yan asked Gu Yao to come out and talk since he noticed that Gu Yao had been waiting for a long time. Gu Yao opposed the idea of Xun Er accompanying them to the Yun Shan Sect, as he couldn't justify it to the clan leader if anything unexpected happened.

Xiao Yan stated that he had never intended to let Xun Er put herself in danger. Hu Jia learned about Gu Yao's departure and arranged to meet him. She gave Gu Yao a piece of ancient jade and personally hung it around his waist, unable to hold back her tears as she embraced him. She urged Gu Yao never to take off the jade pendant, no matter when or where.

Xiao Yan and Xun Er set off towards the Yun Shan Sect. Xun Er specifically wore the bell that Xiao Yan had crafted for her in their childhood. They reminisced about the times when Xiao Yan used to skip classes with her, and both of them felt a deep sense of nostalgia. Xun Er expressed that she had long regarded Xiao Yan's adoptive father as her own and considered herself part of the Xiao family. That's why she changed her name from Gu Xun Er to Xiao Xun Er when she enrolled.

As night fell, Xiao Yan fell asleep as usual, but Xun Er, noticing the worries weighing on him, came out of her tent to comfort him. Xiao Yan once again tried to persuade her not to take risks and assured her that he would bring his father back safely. Xun Er expressed her trust in Xiao Yan's ability to keep his promise, but she insisted on facing everything together with him.

Seeing that his persuasion was in vain, Xiao Yan asked her to rest in the tent while he continued to practice his combat skills for a while.
