Episode 27 recap: Feng Jun is reborn through Nirvana.
A Yin undergoes the final calamity, and Gu Jin worries that A Yin's spiritual power may not withstand it. Xiu Yan also advises A Yin to wait a little longer, until he finds a good path for her before facing the calamity. A Yin, however, believes that regardless of the outcome, it is her destiny. After saying this, she leaps into the pool of transcendence. Gu Jin, seeing this, quickly grabs her hand.
When A Yin opens her eyes, after a resounding phoenix cry, the people gathered in front of her cheer loudly, congratulating Feng Jun on her rebirth through Nirvana. After getting rid of Qing Lin, Hong Yi becomes disheartened and retreats to cultivate in the Ningyun Mountain. Yan Shuang has fallen in love with Hong Yi and has been by his side, even though the elders of the Eagle Clan asked her to return and become the sect leader, she resolutely refused.
But even with Yan Shuang's company, Hong Yi remains unhappy. In his eyes, A Yin's unfortunate fate is all because of him. Yan Shuang goes through numerous tribulations to help Hong Yi find A Yin. One day, while Hong Yi is drowning his sorrows in alcohol, Yan Shuang suddenly sends him a message, saying that she has news about A Yin. Hong Yi hastily puts down the wine jug and rushes over.
When Hong Yi arrives, he sees A Yin talking to Gu Jin. Through her soul imprint, Gu Jin had already discovered A Yin's presence in advance. However, when A Yin sees them, she treats them as strangers. A Yin still has a faint impression of Gu Jin. During her last calamity, she saw Gu Jin in a state of great sadness and learned the reason behind it—it was because of a woman named A Yin. A Yin hurriedly explains that she has no connection to the A Yin in Gu Jin's heart. However, Gu Jin is well-informed about A Yin's situation. He knows that this is A Yin's final calamity and that her spiritual power is very weak. He is worried that her power cannot withstand this calamity and that she will disappear completely, but A Yin does not listen to him.
At that moment, Xiu Yan and Sansheng Stone also arrive. Xiu Yan advises A Yin to wait a little longer, until he finds a good path for her, and then it won't be too late to face the calamity. However, A Yin believes that Xiu Yan has already arranged many good paths for her, but in the end, they all led to the same tragic outcome. Therefore, she decides to go with the flow. Regardless of the outcome, it is her destiny. After saying this, she leaps into the pool of transcendence. Gu Jin, seeing this, quickly grabs her hand, and after a struggle, A Yin finally breaks free from Gu Jin's grasp.
Gu Jin returns to the Yellow Springs Road and asks Xiu Yan to help A Yin, but Xiu Yan looks at the weak immortal essence in the blood lotus and sighs, telling him that A Yin's spiritual power is almost exhausted, and the chances of survival are slim. However, Gu Jin doesn't want A Yin to disappear like that and starts infusing spiritual energy into the blood lotus, hoping to help A Yin. Hong Yi wants to stop Gu Jin, but Xiu Yan stops him.
Xiu Yan tells Hong Yi to let Gu Jin do as he pleases. When the blood lotus withers, it means that A Yin no longer exists, and by then, Gu Jin will give up.
Gu Jin saw his spiritual energy unable to stop the withering of the snow lotus. Regardless of the sword spirit's obstruction, he disregarded it and expended his life force in an attempt to restore A Yin's immortal essence. However, no matter how hard he tried, the snow lotus continued to wither petal by petal.
Xiu Yan looked at the withered snow lotus and couldn't help but sigh. Gu Jin was even more devastated and coughed up several mouthfuls of blood. A few days later, while the sword spirit was playing with the water-condensing beast, A Yun suddenly transformed into human form. Delighted, the sword spirit instructed A Yun to find Gu Jin. However, upon seeing A Yun, Gu Jin only missed A Yin even more.
On Wutong Island, Feng Ming wanted to seize the position of the Phoenix Emperor while Feng Yuan was in the mortal realm for training. Therefore, a meeting of the Phoenix Clan was convened, stating that the Peacock Clan's influence was growing and almost surpassing that of the Phoenix Clan. In order to demonstrate the Phoenix Clan's status, they decided to hold a grand meeting called the "Hundred Birds Pay Homage to the Phoenix." Just as Feng Ming was reluctantly preparing to shoulder this great responsibility, the sound of a phoenix cry suddenly resounded.
A Yin jumped into the Pool of Transcendence, and when she opened her eyes, after a resounding phoenix cry, the people gathered in front of her cheered loudly, congratulating the little Phoenix Sovereign on her rebirth through Nirvana. When Feng Yuan learned of this news, he ended his training and came to congratulate the little Phoenix Sovereign. He was astonished to find that the reborn little Phoenix Sovereign had already become a divine being.
To cheer up Gu Jin, A Yun would constantly revolve around him. When she saw the Fire Phoenix Jade flying out of Gu Jin's body, she curiously observed it, but suddenly, the Fire Phoenix Jade shattered into several pieces. Worried about Gu Jin's punishment, A Yun hid in the Ningyun Mountain. However, as soon as she arrived, she was captured by a masked person.
Hong Yi intervened and drove away the masked person. Gu Jin had always suspected that someone from the immortal clan was colluding with Qing Lin, so he followed the traces left by the masked person and investigated within the immortal sect.
I feel that Feng Yin's return and claiming to be A Yin was just a way to give the audience and Gu Jin some closure and consolation. In reality, Feng Yin's memories were embedded in a fraction of her immortal essence that resided in A Yin.
That's why A Yin has her imprints and memories. If A Yin was truly Feng Yin, she would have recognized Gu Jin as soon as she appeared. If A Yin is considered Feng Yin just because of a fraction of her immortal essence, then if the remaining nine fractions were attached to nine different people, there would be nine Feng Yins.
So, A Yin is just A Yin, not someone else. When she dies, she's truly gone.
