Episode 33 recap: Gu Jin voluntarily married to Wutong Island.
In order to make Yan Shuang happy, Hong Yi followed Gu Jin's teachings and performed various tricks. Yan Shuang immediately noticed that he was not sincere, so she called Gu Jin, who was hiding outside. Just after everyone paid their respects to the Phoenix Emperor, Gu Jin appeared by Feng Yin's side. He was dressed in the same red clothes as Feng Yin and loudly declared that he was willing to offer the entire Qingchi Palace as a betrothal gift and marry Feng Yin as her husband on Wutong Island. Seeing Feng Yin remain silent, he smiled and urged her to make a statement quickly, not wanting him to lose face in front of everyone.
The reason Feng Yin agreed was because Hong Yi, who was nearby, said that their purpose was only to find the demon cultivator, and the marriage was just a sham. At this point, Hong Yi also made a request to Feng Yin. He wanted to personally write the wedding invitation, specifically the one for Gu Jin.
Yan Shuang felt uncomfortable seeing Hong Yi so happy. Feng Yin noticed that Yan Shuang was drinking alone and sat beside her. Feng Yin already knew that Yan Shuang had spent a thousand years accompanying Hong Yi and felt that she should have feelings for him. So, Feng Yin comforted her, saying that the marriage with Hong Yi was fake and only intended to uncover the demon cultivator. Yan Shuang forced a smile and said that she didn't care about Hong Yi. She was prepared to return and assume the position of Eagle King to do more for the Eagle Clan.
After Hong Yi returned, Lin Mo noticed that he wasn't as happy as expected. Lin Mo tried to console him, saying that even though it was a fake marriage, he had at least fulfilled his longtime wish. Upon hearing Lin Mo's words, Hong Yi confessed to Lin Mo that the current Feng Yin was cold and distant, and moreover, she was the half-god Phoenix Emperor, which made him feel a sense of awe and distance. Therefore, in his eyes, the current Feng Yin was different from A Yin.
Hua Shu found her father and asked if the person who attacked Emperor Lan Feng from behind in the Chaos Cloud Pearl was him. The Peacock King naturally denied it. To dispel Hua Shu's suspicions, he took her to see Emperor Lan Feng's body. After infusing demonic energy into Emperor Lan Feng's body, Hua Shu was pleasantly surprised to see Emperor Lan Feng's finger move, which dispelled her suspicions and made her believe that her father practiced demonic cultivation for her sake.
Gu Jin found Hua Shu because Emperor Lan Feng had self-punished himself for her, and asked if she knew who the culprit was. While Hua Shu was pondering how to defend herself, A Yu and the Divine Sword suddenly came running and informed them about Feng Yin's intention to marry Hong Yi.
Upon hearing this, Gu Jin was greatly surprised and no longer bothered with Hua Shu. He hurriedly rushed to Wutong Island. After arriving at Wutong Island, he held Feng Yin's hand and confessed his love to her. However, Feng Yin clearly told him that when he openly declared A Yin to be just a passing figure in his life in front of everyone, their bond had already been severed.
Gu Jin didn't believe that Feng Yin would love Hong Yi. After leaving Wutong Island, he searched through some ancient books and finally discovered that the purpose of Feng Yin marrying Hong Yi was for the divine light. So he used his divine power to bind Feng Yin and carried her to Qingchi Palace, telling her that he had another way to uncover the demonic cultivator. However, Feng Yin refused to listen to him.
After the restrictions on her were lifted, she turned around and left. Hong Yi couldn't understand why Yan Shuang broke off their relationship after he stood her up once. To make Yan Shuang happy, he went to the Eagle Clan and brought her flowers and delicacies. At first, Yan Shuang was happy to see him, but when she heard that Hong Yi came to ask for her help in arranging the wedding, she got angry and drove him away.
Just after Hong Yi returned from the Eagle Clan, Gu Jin came to him with a few bottles of good wine, pretending to congratulate him on his marriage to Feng Yin. However, he deliberately got him drunk. When the servants woke up Hong Yi, he realized that the time for the wedding was approaching, so he hurriedly rushed to Wutong Island. On the way to Wutong Island, Hong Yi unexpectedly found Yan Shuang being attacked by a corrupted elder. The situation was critical, so he stepped in to save her.
The person attacking Yan Shuang was arranged by the Peacock King. The Peacock King suspected that Feng Yin and Hong Yi's marriage might have another purpose, so he wanted to investigate further before taking action. To avoid arousing suspicion, Hua Shu went to Wutong Island first.
But when the time came for the ceremony, the groom was nowhere to be seen, and everyone was puzzled. Suddenly, Gu Jin appeared and bluntly revealed the truth: he had gotten Hong Yi drunk on purpose because he wanted to snatch the bride. After saying this, Gu Jin waved his hand, and his appearance changed to that of the groom. He loudly declared to Feng Yin that he was willing to offer the entire Qingchi Palace as a betrothal gift and marry her as her husband on Wutong Island. Seeing Feng Yin remain silent, he smiled and urged her to make a statement quickly, not wanting him to lose face in front of everyone. Feng Yin then accepted the token of Qingchi Palace and they proceeded to the wedding ceremony.
