Episode 7 recap: Gu Jin and A Yin were plotted against by the Demon Clan.
Gu Jin and A Yin saw Princess Chen Min and quickly explained their purpose. Princess Chen Min hesitated, and at that moment, Hong Yi emerged from the Qiankun Bag. Hong Yi's parents had been killed by Princess Chen Min's mother during the ancient war between immortals and demons. As enemies met, they immediately started fighting. However, Hong Yi was injured and no match for Princess Chen Min. Gu Jin quickly presented a gift to Princess Chen Min, showing her the emblem of the Chen Clan. This partially appeased Princess Chen Min's anger. Under A Yin's persuasion, Princess Chen Min temporarily set aside the grudges of the previous generation, spared Hong Yi for the time being, and gave them the immortal essence of the little Fire Phoenix.
Princess Chen Min held the emblem and arrived at a stone stele. She placed the emblem into a groove on the stele. To her surprise, Zhuo Ying had already tampered with the emblem. As soon as the emblem was embedded, the world reversed. Not only did it break the protective formation of Mount Guiyu, allowing the Demon Clan to enter freely, but the Demon Clan also trapped Gu Jin, A Yin, and others using the protective formation. Gu Jin and A Yin killed several members of the Demon Clan. A Yin knew the Eagle Clan possessed clairvoyance and released Yan Shuang from the Qiankun Bag to help find the core of the protective formation. Just as Yan Shuang found it, Zhuo Ying suddenly appeared and held a knife to A Yin's neck, forcing Gu Jin to hand over the Fire Phoenix Jade. From Zhuo Ying's voice and figure, Gu Jin immediately recognized him as the person who had breached the barrier and caused the loss of the Fire Phoenix's immortal essence.
Upon hearing Zhuo Ying's words, A Yin realized they had been deceived by the Demon Sect. The information about the Chen Clan emblem being in the casino was deliberately leaked by the Demon Sect. Their purpose was to use Gu Jin and the others to bring the emblem, tainted with demonic energy, to Mount Guiyu. In order to save A Yin, Gu Jin took out the Fire Phoenix Jade. When Zhuo Ying went to receive the jade, he was flung away by the barrier above. Gu Jin took the opportunity to rescue A Yin.
Unwilling to accept defeat, Zhuo Ying decided to capture Gu Jin and bring him, along with the jade, back to the Demon Sect. They engaged in a fierce battle, but Gu Jin and his companions were no match for them. Just as it seemed they would all be captured, Gu Jin's divine sword suddenly grew larger from a small dagger. Gu Jin wielded the divine sword and easily repelled Zhuo Ying and his followers.
Zhuo Ying escaped and reported back to the Demon Lord, who did not blame him for failing to anticipate the barrier on the Fire Phoenix Jade.
Zhuo Ying asked Tian Mo in confusion why they needed to obtain the Fire Phoenix Jade. Tian Mo told him that the barrier of the Nine Abyss Shadefiend Prison had weakened. If they could obtain the Fire Phoenix Jade and combine it with Tian Mo's demi-god power, they could open the barrier of the prison and release the demon kings imprisoned inside. Only then would the Demon Realm have hope of defeating the Immortal Realm and the Monster Realm.
Tian Mo's name was Qing Lin, and she was also a Nine-Tailed Fox of the Fox Clan. Back then, she and Hong Ruo both fell in love with a member of the Tiger Clan. She used schemes to separate them and caused the death of Hong Yi's father and mother. In order to surpass Hong Ruo, she was willing to turn to darkness. After Qing Lin turned to darkness, she needed to maintain her human form and had to consume more than ten inner cores daily. To change this situation, she decided to possess Hong Yi's body. That was why she lured Hong Yi to the Nine Abyss Shadefiend Prison. Hong Yi's inner core was now injured by her, and he was also contaminated by the Godslayer Flower, making it the perfect opportunity for her to take over his body.
After driving away Zhuo Ying, Yan Shuang, due to her shared experience of fighting alongside Gu Jin and the others, regarded them as friends. She deliberately asked Gu Jin whom he would support if there was a war between the Eagle Clan and the Peacock Clan. Although Gu Jin said that disciples of the Daze Mountain did not involve themselves in such grudges, Yan Shuang deduced from his answer that he would help the Peacock Clan.
Since Hong Yi's injuries had not healed, Gu Jin and A Yin decided to take him back to the Daze Mountain. On their way back, Hong Ruo suddenly appeared. Seeing Hong Yi injured, he condensed half of his inner power into a bracelet and placed it on Hong Yi's hand. He also transferred the Godslayer Flower from Hong Yi's body to his own.
Qing Lin launched a surprise attack on Hong Yi but was injured by the bracelet. It was then discovered that Hong Ruo had given half of his inner power to Hong Yi, and the Godslayer Flower was now on Qing Lin's body. She turned her attention towards Hong Ruo.
