Episode 12 recap: Nan Hua discovered that the ancient cherry tree had grown new roots.
When they returned home, Jin Xia couldn't muster up any energy. Nan Hua cooked for Jin Xia, making it taste like their grandmother's cooking. Ding Yan Hai found it too salty, not expecting Nan Hua to make a mistake. Jin Xia was deeply touched, thinking they would never have their grandmother's cooking again.
Nan Hua said that if Jin Xia liked it, they would cook for them again in the future. After finishing the meal, Jin Xia went to tidy up their things while Nan Hua played with their phone and took a picture of Jin Xia. Ding Yan Hai saw it and asked why Nan Hua was secretly taking pictures of Jin Xia. Nan Hua explained that they were just using the phone to familiarize themselves with its functions.
Ding Yan Hai asked Nan Hua to take a picture with them to make up for it. Jin Xia continued to organize their things, and Nan Hua mentioned that they heard everything Jin Xia said earlier and asked if it was true. Jin Xia had asked Nan Hua not to leave and said they were their "charging treasure," so even if the cherry tree withered, Nan Hua could still recharge them.
Jin Xia confirmed that they were serious, and Nan Hua said that if that's the case, they would be by Jin Xia's side from now on. As long as Jin Xia was there, Nan Hua would be too. Nan Hua said they needed to think about these things and couldn't remember if they were married, but they hadn't had a wedding ceremony, so they probably weren't officially married.
Nan Hua suddenly became very cold, and Jin Xia hurriedly tried to recharge them. However, a forehead kiss didn't work, and neither did a kiss on the lips. Jin Xia became extremely anxious, and Nan Hua felt that maybe they had been away for too long and needed to go back first. Ding Yan Hai noticed that Nan Hua's hand had become transparent and became extremely worried. Nan Hua reassured Ding Yan Hai that they were fine and asked them not to tell Jin Xia. However, Ding Yan Hai informed Jin Xia that they had already put Nan Hua back in the coffin, and it seemed that the temperature had risen. Ding Yan Hai told Jin Xia not to worry, and Jin Xia felt relieved.
Jin Xia saw the food prepared by their grandmother in the refrigerator and couldn't help but cry. Jin Xia organized a funeral for their grandmother here, and Nan Hua also came. Jin Xia was happy to see that Nan Hua was okay.
Ding Yan Hai discovered that Nan Hua was missing and became extremely worried. They finally managed to contact Nan Hua and learned that Nan Hua had come to find Jin Xia. Jin Xia wondered what they would do if it didn't work in the future. Nan Hua mentioned that they woke up today and found that the ancient cherry tree was blooming. They were surprised and checked it, discovering that the tree had grown new roots. It wouldn't wither, and Nan Hua wouldn't disappear.
Jin Xia was also happy to hear this. Nan Hua thought it was strange and decided to investigate it thoroughly. Ding Yan Hai found Jiang Xiao Chuan passed out at Jin Xia's house and quickly came to their rescue.
Jiang Xiao Chuan asked Ding Yan Hai not to tell Jin Xia and the others about their fainting incident because they didn't want them to worry. Ding Yan Hai agreed and asked how Jiang Xiao Chuan ended up at Jin Xia's house. Jiang Xiao Chuan explained that Jin Xia had given them a spare key before.
While Jin Xia was packing their things, they found many items from the past that they wanted to discard. Jin Xia came across old photos of their grandmother and searched the news, discovering that the ancestral hall they had demolished before was where their grandmother had taken people to dismantle.
