Episode 13 recap: Jin Xia is caught up in plagiarism.
The woman who came to find Nan Hua before has now become the Empress with Nan Hua's help and has enjoyed wealth and prosperity for many years. The Empress admits that she deceived Nan Hua previously and it wasn't the person he was looking for. Another woman came with the earring and claimed that as long as she brought the earring to Nan Hua, she would receive his help.
Nan Hua asked the Empress who gave it to her, and she replied that she didn't know, but the woman had a white plum flower hairpin. The Empress confessed to deceiving Nan Hua and has felt guilty ever since. She tried to find traces of the Crown Prince as a way to make it up to Nan Hua and found a sound-emitting pearl and some directions. Nan Hua could go and see for himself.
Nan Hua went there and discovered that the Crown Prince had died due to his involvement in a coup. In memory of the Crown Prince, Nan Hua built a shrine there and used to visit often. However, recently he hasn't come due to being in a deep sleep, and when he returned, he found that the shrine had been demolished. Jin Xia believes that if Nan Hua obtains the sound-emitting pearl, he might be able to learn about the Crown Prince's fate.
Nan Hua mentioned that he no longer remembers what was said inside the pearl, and its contents have been completely erased. Jin Xia felt disappointed upon hearing this. Jin Xia found some childhood items and showed them to Nan Hua, including drawings and certificates.
Jin Xia said that she doesn't want these things anymore and threw them into the trash bin. Nan Hua brought up the matter of their grandmother and compared it to a contract between the moon and the Earth. The moon will always revolve around the Earth, and even if their grandmother is no longer here, she will always watch over them from the sky.
Jin Xia feels that the moon is now free and brings up Nan Hua, wanting him to live not only for the person he's been waiting for but also for himself. Jin Xia goes to the company, and Jin Xia's teacher brings over a design drawing, claiming that Jin Xia plagiarized her. The pair of earrings in question is her own design, which she showed to everyone that day.
Jin Xia remembers that on that day, they had eaten sweet fermented rice balls. Unexpectedly, Jin Xia had a low alcohol tolerance and got drunk just from eating them. At that time, they saw the design of the earrings but don't remember it anymore. Later, when they smelled Nan Hua's sachet, which was supposed to restore memories, they mistakenly thought it was their own inspiration and used it to create the design.
Jin Xia quickly explains and apologizes to the teacher and everyone, feeling ashamed for the act of plagiarism. The teacher believes Jin Xia's explanation, as otherwise, there would be no need for them to openly show the design without any concealment. The teacher says that Jin Xia's work is still the best this time, except for that one pair of earrings. The other designs combine classical and modern aesthetics. During the fashion show, the teacher will go on stage together with Jin Xia.
Others are discussing and expressing their dissatisfaction. Jin Xia goes to find the teacher and asks if there are any similar designs, wanting to see them in advance to avoid any more plagiarism. The teacher's expression appears strange and says that the other designs are still at home and will show them later. Jin Xia talks to Jiang Xiao Chuan about this and believes that the teacher is the person Nan Hua has been waiting for. They had thought they were the one giving energy to Nan Hua that day at the company, but now it seems it might have been the teacher. That's why Nan Hua couldn't regain his energy during their visit to their grandmother's house.
Jiang Xiao Chuan advises Jin Xia not to overthink and reminds them that the person they're waiting for and the person they like are not necessarily the same. They suggest that Jin Xia should seize this opportunity and make a move on Nan Hua.
