Episode 3 recap: The true identity of Nan Hua is revealed.

After many years apart, Nan Hua still maintains peace and is often accompanied by two cats under the tree. The neighbor next door, Mrs. Bian Min, gives birth to a child, and Bian Min comes with the baby to ask Nan Hua for a name. Nan Hua names the child "Zhai," and sixty years later, Bian Taiping has become an old man, while Nan Hua retains his youthful appearance. When he hears the name Li Chuchen again, he realizes that he has lost many memories.

After a thousand years, Jin Xia seems to have replaced Li Chuchen, and she is reluctant to accept this fact. Jin Xia and Jiang Xiaochuan return to the bedroom and see a coffin made of dark wood placed by the window. Before they can react, Nan Hua enters through the wall and explains the origin and purpose of the coffin. He rests and rejuvenates inside the coffin on a regular basis.

Although Nan Hua has no malicious intent, Jin Xia is still apprehensive. Jiang Xiaochuan carefully analyzes Nan Hua and speaks in a knowledgeable manner, leaving Jin Xia in a state of confusion. Jin Xia tosses and turns, unable to sleep, and gets up to look out the window. She sees Nan Hua feeding the cats under the tree, which contradicts the notion that ghosts are afraid of cats. She decides to give him one more chance.

Early in the morning, Nan Hua personally cooks in the kitchen, and the exquisite and delicious food impresses Jiang Xiaochuan. Seeing Jin Xia and Jiang Xiaochuan using chopsticks to taste the food, Nan Hua smiles with satisfaction, seemingly forgetting the millennia of solitude that prevented him from enjoying meals with others.

While Nan Hua is busy in the kitchen, Jiang Xiaochuan continues to persuade Jin Xia earnestly. He suggests that instead of finding an unreliable roommate, she should keep Nan Hua, a handsome man who is capable in both the living room and the kitchen. At that moment, a fortune teller Jin Xia contacted arrives, claiming to exorcise ghosts but actually just playing tricks.

Seeing the unprofessional behavior of the fortune teller, Jin Xia already regrets her decision. On the other hand, Nan Hua is completely unfazed by the fortune teller and is intrigued by her talismans and incantations. Chaotic memories flood his mind, and he finally remembers that he is an ancient being. In the past, the outsiders, driven by their own desires, slandered the ancient tribe as evil spirits and used the name of righteousness to ruthlessly harm them. Jin Xia recovers this memory and harbors extreme hatred towards the fortune teller. She uses her magic to make the fortune teller experience horrifying fantasies originating from her own mind.

Terrified, the fortune teller hurriedly flees, leaving Nan Hua disappointed that Jin Xia still refuses to believe in him. In her fear, Jin Xia even throws a handful of coffee beans at him, causing him to have an allergic reaction and his spiritual energy to dissipate.

As Nan Hua grew weak and near death, Jin Xia became anxious. Following his guidance, she touched his finger to access his memories and confirmed that he came from a highly advanced prehistoric civilization. It was precisely because of these extraordinary abilities beyond human comprehension that he was described as a malevolent spirit by ancient people and suffered various persecutions. Jin Xia felt deeply guilty and blamed herself. In order to save Nan Hua, she willingly offered a kiss to recharge him and sent him back to the coffin to rest. Jiang Xiao Chuan was somewhat angry and criticized Jin Xia for acting on her own, stating that even if they were to help him move on, they should respect his wishes, especially considering his life-saving grace. Jin Xia's actions were equivalent to ingratitude.

After this incident, Jin Xia reflected on her mistakes. That night, she frequently looked towards the coffin, concerned about Nan Hua's well-being. Nan Hua emerged from the coffin in the middle of the night and personally covered the sleeping Jin Xia with a thin blanket, also repairing the worn-out circuitry. Once he finished everything, as the sky began to brighten, he walked bare-bodied with a branch on his back to apologize to Jin Xia, believing that he should not have kissed her for energy the previous day. Fortunately, Jin Xia did not hold it against him and even accepted the reality of living with Nan Hua as a roommate, with three agreed-upon rules. Jiang Xiao Chuan couldn't help but interject, requesting Nan Hua to teach Jin Xia how to interact with the opposite sex and overcome her fear of intimate relationships. She also believed that he could shoulder such a responsibility and live up to her expectations.

Jin Xia prepared to drive Jiang Xiao Chuan back to the city but worried that the car might still have unresolved issues. To dispel Jin Xia's concerns, Nan Hua proactively suggested accompanying them back to the city, having accumulated enough spiritual energy to sustain his absence from the Taiping Residence for a while.

During the journey, Jin Xia became curious as to why Nan Hua knew how to fix cars. Nan Hua explained that he had once studied the mechanisms of the Mohist school and later delved into contemporary inventions. Jiang Xiao Chuan praised his versatility, and this greatly changed Jin Xia's perception of him.
