Episode 11 recap: Yang Kai Hui came to Shanghai to work.
Yang Kai Hui and Xiang Jing Yu came to Shanghai together. She came to work with Xiang Jing Yu to support their parents. Xiang Jing Yu gathered many women together for a meeting, where she told everyone that as long as they have a united heart and work together, they will succeed.Someone mentioned that having a united heart is easier said than done. Xiang Jing Yu introduced Yang Kai Hui to them and told everyone about her excellent achievements in Changsha. The women seemed to see hope and listened attentively to Yang Kai Hui's lecture.
Mao Ze Dong was chatting with Mao Anqing and Cai He Sen. Suddenly, Mao Anqing started crying in Mao Ze Dong's arms. Mao Ze Dong asked Cai He Sen what to do. Cai He Sen didn't know either and guessed that Mao Anqing might be hungry, so he quickly went to prepare rice gruel for him.
Mao Ze Dong's mother-in-law heard the crying and hurried over. She said it wasn't hunger but rather that Mao Anqing needed a diaper change, and she took the child away. Mao Ze Dong and Cai He Sen were left facing each other, and they resumed their discussion. Before they could say much, Mao Anying started crying again.
After Mao Ze Dong finished comforting Mao Anqing, Mao Anying started crying. Cai He Sen sighed, saying that taking care of children is no easier than engaging in revolution. When Xiang Jing Yu and Yang Kai Hui finished their class and were leaving, they ran into Yang Zhihua. Xiang Jing Yu introduced the two of them and told them that they would be her right-hand men from now on.
Jiang Xian Yun was dismissed from the position of platoon leader but was appointed as the team leader of the second squad. At first, Jiang Xian Yun thought the principal was going to hold him accountable, but he later realized it wasn't the case and started smiling happily. Yang Kai Hui noticed that something was bothering Yang Zhihua and asked Xiang Jing Yu what was wrong with her.
Xiang Jing Yu told her that Yang Zhihua was suffering from lovesickness. Yang Kai Hui asked her who the person was. Yang Zhihua felt embarrassed to say, so Xiang Jing Yu told Yang Kai Hui that she sees that person every day. Yang Kai Hui figured out that the person must be one of Mao Ze Dong's friends, and Yang Zhihua added that the person is an exceptional gentleman. Yang Kai Hui immediately guessed that the person was Qu Qiu Bai.
Mao Ze Dong told Qu Qiu Bai that besides doing a good job, he should also consider his personal matters. Mao Ze Dong knew Jian Hong was a good girl, but ever since she left, Qu Qiu Bai had been immersed in work day and night.
Qu Qiu Bai believed that it's difficult to bear the longing for someone, so it's better to channel all his energy into work. Mao Ze Dong told him that the revolutionary path is not easy, and having a companion makes it less lonely. Chen Du Xiu and Mao Ze Dong were having a meal together, and Chen Du Xiu felt that he wasn't qualified to criticize Mao Ze Dong because of his own bad temper.
However, now that Mao Ze Dong is working in the Kuomintang, he still needs to step back when necessary. Mao Ze Dong said that stepping back once means stepping back step by step, but Chen Du Xiu told him that when one can no longer tolerate it, there's no need to endure further. They have just started working with others, so they shouldn't criticize this place or that place.
Ye Chu Cong and Shen De Quan, along with a few people who didn't like Mao Ze Dong, were playing mahjong together. Shen De Quan told Ye Chu Cong that his cousin, Qi Bao, has made a name for himself on the Shanghai Bund, and everyone under his command can fight. Qi Bao told Ye Chu Cong that as long as he gives the green light, he will lead his people to storm into their meeting on that day. The Fourth District Party Branch of the Kuomintang was officially established, and Qi Bao and his men infiltrated it.
Ye Chu Cong and Ji Tao were having a meal together, and Ji Tao wondered what good it would do to oppose Sun Zhong Shan at this time. Ye Chu Cong felt that they shouldn't swallow their pride and let others trample over them. On July 21, 1924, the joint announcement from Chen Du Xiu and Mao Ze Dong, titled "CCP Central Committee Announcement No. 15," was issued.
The announcement analyzed the serious situation of the Kuomintang's right-wing anti-communist activities. Shen De Quan and others jointly petitioned the Premier to expel the cross-party members, but Li Lei refused to sign and spoke in favor of the Communist Party. In response, Shen De Quan and his men beat them up. Cai He Sen felt that these right-wing individuals were too arrogant. They have now targeted them directly. When Mao Ze Dong heard the news, he hurriedly arrived, and they all regarded Shen De Quan and others as a bunch of bandits.
