Episode 12 recap: Ji Dan Yang and others are searching for ore.
Bai Hui tends to Pang Hong Mei's leg wound and advises Pang Hong Mei to be more careful. However, Pang Hong Mei doesn't take it seriously, believing that getting injured is inevitable during missions. Bai Hui explains that the bruise will take about ten to fifteen days to heal and advises Pang Hong Mei to take care of herself.
Currently, they are investigating the people who have access to these meeting records. Secretary Lu has attended four meetings, and Pang Hong Mei wants to test him. Pang Hong Mei pretends to be unable to find Director Han and asks Secretary Lu to pass the documents to Director Han. Later, she retrieves the documents from Director Han to check if they have been tampered with. Captain Chen believes that they shouldn't dismiss their suspicions based on one test and that further investigation is necessary.
While Ji Dan Yang and the others are having a meal in the cafeteria, Pang Hong Mei mentions that Bai Hui gave him a string of bracelets made of jinhongshi, a type of ore. Ji Dan Yang gets excited and wants to come over to Pang Hong Mei's location to borrow the bracelets for research purposes.
Ji Dan Yang and the team are researching jinhongshi, as it contains extractable titanium metal, which is highly beneficial for their research. Ji Dan Yang comes to Pang Hong Mei's location and notices that it is messy, with cabinets blocking the windows and preventing sunlight from coming in, which affects the mood. Ji Dan Yang insists on helping Pang Hong Mei tidy up.
Pang Hong Mei suspects that Ji Dan Yang is being overly attentive for a reason and asks him what the matter is. Ji Dan Yang requests that Pang Hong Mei give him the bracelet again. It is the same one Bai Hui gave Pang Hong Mei before, made from ore found in the mountains. Pang Hong Mei insists that she has already given it to him, but Ji Dan Yang believes that one piece is not enough.
Pang Hong Mei gives the bracelet to Ji Dan Yang, asking him to return it intact. Ji Dan Yang agrees promptly, but they still need more raw ore as they haven't extracted enough titanium metal. Ji Dan Yang approaches Bai Hui and asks where he bought the string of bracelets, and Bai Hui explains that his father accidentally discovered them while collecting medicinal herbs in Dongshan.
Bai Hui wants to know the specific location, and he promises to ask around once he finishes work. Bai Ming Han received a letter and came to look for the enemy agent, mentioning that some people have had it for a while. Bai Hui informs Ji Dan Yang that it was discovered near the rhinoceros horn in Dongshan.
Ji Dan Yang approaches Pang Hong Mei and informs her that they will be going out this afternoon. He asks Bai Hui to join them and guide them. Ji Dan Yang goes to Captain Chen and mentions the presence of surveillance in the area. Captain Chen suggests demolishing the wall but Ji Dan Yang feels that it's not his area of expertise and is unsure where the surveillance is located.
Ji Dan Yang, Pang Hong Mei, and the others search in the mountains. Ji Dan Yang gets tired halfway through the climb, but to his surprise, Bai Hui has great stamina. Bai Hui explains that he often accompanies his father to collect medicinal herbs in the mountains and is accustomed to climbing in Dongshan. Since Pang Hong Mei can do it, he feels he should be able to as well.
They have been searching for the ore but haven't found it yet. They reach a cliff and start shouting, determined to find the ore. The meeting room has been inspected and there are no issues. The meeting is about to start, and Captain Chen suggests reducing the number of participants, allowing only those who must attend to be present.
Secretary Lu was supposed to attend the meeting but finds out he cannot. He feels frustrated and believes there is no reason for him not to attend. This matter must be clarified. During the meeting, Ji Dan Yang notices some activity near the speaker and suspects it may be a reverse monitoring device. He writes a note to inform Pang Hong Mei.
Pang Hong Mei asks Ji Dan Yang to go up and say something unrelated, avoiding revealing actual data, while they investigate. They suspect that the issue may be at the broadcasting station and head there. However, they find no one there, and the equipment is turned off. Others notice a problem with a particular wire at that location.
Indeed, there is someone monitoring, and Pang Hong Mei and the others investigate, but they haven't found anything yet.
