Episode 24 recap: The sealed cabin experiment failed.
He Xi Wen has been inside the sealed cabin for a while now, and his condition seems off. Everyone is very concerned and wondering if He Xi Wen should come out first. Chu Gong believes that since He Xi Wen hasn't activated the alarm yet, there might not be a problem. Others think that He Xi Wen might want to hold on a little longer to obtain more valuable data.
However, Ji Dan Yang feels that something is not right. Based on his calculations, He Xi Wen should be able to endure for 90 minutes, but only 30 minutes have passed, so it shouldn't be like this. Suddenly, He Xi Wen experiences difficulty breathing, and the medical team notices blood on the paper on the table. They quickly open the door for him.
Unexpectedly, the door of the sealed cabin doesn't open at once. Niu Shifu rushes over and finally manages to open the cabin, bringing He Xi Wen out and sending him to the emergency room. Since Ji Dan Yang was responsible for calculating the data, he is now being investigated. Ji Dan Yang blames himself, thinking that he made a miscalculation and his condition earlier caused He Xi Wen's current state.
Pang Hong Mei believes that the situation is not clear yet, and Ji Dan Yang doesn't need to shoulder all the responsibility immediately. She asks him how many people have had access to that piece of data. Ji Dan Yang thinks for a moment and recalls that He Xi Wen and Li Pei Zhang came to see him earlier, so they could have seen the paper. Additionally, Bai Hui also visited him and brought medicine, so it's possible that she saw it too.
Pang Hong Mei asks Ji Dan Yang to point out which specific data is problematic. Ji Dan Yang indicates that it's the issue with the number 1. Pang Hong Mei goes back to study it carefully, but since these are all research-related matters, she can't understand them at all and can only look at the number.
Everyone looked at the densely written draft paper and thought that even if Bai Hui had seen it, she probably wouldn't know what changes to make. Ding Jie and the others found paper scraps on which Bai Hui had written in the hospital and discovered four instances of the number 1, but they were different from the one on this particular paper.
Captain Chen believed that if Bai Hui was indeed involved, she wouldn't follow her previous writing habits. Moreover, since she became the head nurse, many things had changed, and they couldn't only consider one side of the story. Pang Hong Mei and the others came to the workshop to inquire about it. Niu Shifu had already inspected the inside and outside of the sealed cabin before, but found no issues. They checked again but still didn't know where the problem arose.
The director stated that they had already inspected the sealed cabin when it was brought over, and the research personnel had also examined it. Everything was signed off and deemed fine. The expert group was also present during transportation, so there shouldn't be any problems. Ji Dan Yang has been suspended from work now and refuses to come out of the room. Pang Hong Mei is very worried about his condition.
Bai Hui came to see Ji Dan Yang, but she couldn't persuade him. Pang Hong Mei went to find Ji Dan Yang, expressing that everyone is currently concerned about He Xi Wen and working hard for the Water Drop Project. Meanwhile, he is isolating himself in the room like a deserter. Does he think that by staying with He Xi Wen, he will miraculously get better, and the project will continue smoothly?
Director Ge believes that Ji Dan Yang's current physical issues are due to mental problems, caused by something bothering him psychologically. Bai Hui overhears this and approaches Ji Dan Yang, saying she will take him somewhere. Ji Dan Yang is surprised and asks where Bai Hui wants to go. Bai Hui replies that he should just follow her.
