Episode 29 recap: Pang Hong Mei is in danger.
Zhang Yan asked Chu Gong who has seen this blueprint. Chu Gong said that everyone in their expert group has seen it. Zhang Yan felt assured that the members of the expert group themselves could be trusted, but the blueprint should not be shown to others, and secrecy must be maintained. Captain Lin took something and went to Bai Hui's house to express gratitude for helping him.
Captain Lin mentioned that his arm often feels uncomfortable and heard that Bai Hui's father is an experienced traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. He hoped that Bai Hui's father could take a look at his arm. Captain Lin met Bai Ming Han and exchanged a secret code with him, but Bai Ming Han didn't want to engage with him. Captain Lin asked Bai Ming Han why he refused to return to the team, but Bai Ming Han was unwilling to answer.
After they left, Bai Ming Han expressed that Captain Lin doesn't seem like a good person and advised Bai Hui not to associate with him. When Wu Rui had a nosebleed while working, he went to the hospital and Bai Hui took care of him. Bai Hui went to the tailor shop, where Miao Shen gave him a camera and instructed him to obtain the master blueprint of the project.
Bai Hui approached Captain Lin and used the secret code. Unexpectedly, Captain Lin turned out to be Flying Fox. Bai Hui mentioned that there were a total of 14 members in the Nanshan Youth Group, but most of them had perished. Since the activation of Flying Fox, his cooperation with Earthworm has always been seamless. Captain Lin hoped that Bai Hui could convince his father to rejoin the team, but Bai Hui stated that he is his own person, and even without his father, he can still accomplish the mission.
Bai Hui went to find Lu Cheng and said that someone is trying to kill him. He mentioned that he visited the teacher who saved him in the orphanage before and found someone he can trust for life. He showed Lu Cheng the titanium metal, which he considered as their token of love. However, the teacher stole the titanium metal and Bai Hui discovered that the teacher is a spy who sent the titanium metal to Taiwan.
Lu Cheng was taken aback by the revelation and didn't know what to do. Bai Hui said that the teacher insisted on obtaining the master blueprint, or else he would expose Lu Cheng's theft of the titanium metal. Lu Cheng became extremely anxious, but Bai Hui assured him that he would resolve the matter. Lu Cheng thought Bai Hui was planning their future together and agreed to help.
Bai Hui handed the camera to Lu Cheng.
Pang Hong Mei approached Master Yang to inquire about the method of inserting the rope buckle. Master Yang explained that he inserted it diagonally, using a technique called the "twisted insertion method," which is popular among people in the northern regions, while in the southern regions, they insert it vertically. Pang Hong Mei quickly informed Captain Chen about this discovery, and Captain Chen was pleased, emphasizing the significance of this finding and instructing someone to investigate which people in the factory are from the northern regions.
While conducting an experiment, Pang Hong Mei accidentally injured his hand, so Captain Chen advised him to go to the hospital for treatment. Bai Hui attended to Pang Hong Mei's wound, and Ding Jie arrived, mentioning that they had overlooked someone during their previous investigation. Pang Hong Mei asked Bai Hui to leave first, and Ding Jie revealed that the person is a master craftsman from the carpentry team who knows how to insert the rope buckle.
Unbeknownst to them, Bai Hui didn't go far and overheard the conversation at the door. Pang Hong Mei went to find the carpentry master and arrived at the carpentry warehouse. Unexpectedly, the door suddenly closed, and a fire broke out inside. Master Niu and the others discovered an issue with the blueprints and went to find Director Han. Director Han stated that they have the master blueprint and they should check it.
Upon hearing about the fire, Captain Chen and the others rushed to the scene, knowing that Pang Hong Mei was still inside. Ji Dan Yang also learned about the incident and together they forcefully opened the door. Ji Dan Yang poured a bucket of water on himself and bravely rushed in to rescue Pang Hong Mei.
Bai Hui also arrived and witnessed Ji Dan Yang bringing Pang Hong Mei out. When Pang Hong Mei regained consciousness, he realized that Ji Dan Yang was an expert and considered himself more important, as he risked his life to save him.
