Episode 34 recap: Aunt Miao exposed.
Bai Ming Han set up a stall here to diagnose people, and Aunt Miao came to find Bai Ming Han to inquire about the progress of poisoning Chu Huai Qiu. Bai Ming Han said that this matter needs to be handled slowly, otherwise it could be easily discovered. Aunt Miao insisted that regardless of how he felt, he must poison Chu Huai Qiu, otherwise she and her daughter would be in trouble.
Bai Ming Han stated that he was not qualified to hear such words and asked her to call Xue Lang to meet him. Bai Hui and Luo Shanshan arrived at the laboratory to conduct experiments. Bai Hui came here and took something away. This is what Wu Rui left behind. While working here, he made a secret compartment and left something inside, indicating that Bai Hui would need it.
Suddenly, there was a fire in the experimental cabin, and Ji Dan Yang wanted everyone to evacuate. He Xi Wen argued that if they evacuated, their experiment would be considered a failure, and all their efforts would be in vain. The fire couldn't be extinguished with a fire extinguisher due to the risk of air pollution, so they had to use water to put it out. Everyone quickly fetched water and managed to extinguish the fire.
Ji Dan Yang instructed everyone to activate their self-developed air purification system, which fortunately passed the test. The air quality returned to normal, and the experiment could continue. Captain Chen discovered that Luo Shanshan was the one who had been in possession of Chu Huai Qiu's medicine, but he did not say anything when Director Ge asked if there were any issues.
Bai Hui had a wrench, and Wu Rui had previously told him about a place where he had tampered with something. By loosening the fastener, mercury would be released. He Xi Wen reported that there was a mercury leak in the experimental cabin. Ji Dan Yang ordered them to quickly close the cabin door and check the air data.
Now it has dropped by five percentage points compared to earlier. Ji Dan Yang wants everyone to evacuate, believing that their lives should not be put at risk. However, He Xi Wen insists on persevering and staying inside to clean up the mercury. Ji Dan Yang orders the activation of the emergency team to go in and wipe off the mercury, but Pang Hong Mei stops him, stating that he is the overall commander and cannot be in danger, and that he should go instead.
He Xi Wen doesn't want to leave, but Pang Hong Mei pushes him out. Pang Hong Mei is already bleeding from the nose but continues to stay. The emergency team arrives and takes Pang Hong Mei out. Within a countdown of three minutes, the emergency team cleans up the mercury, and they can continue the experiment.
Bai Ming Han comes to treat Pang Hong Mei and expresses that their hospital responded very promptly, and now everything is fine. He gives them a prescription and advises them to follow it and they will recover quickly. Captain Lin is wandering around the hospital and happens to meet Zhang Ling.
A nurse comes over, and Zhang Ling asks if he has given the medicine to Chu Gong. Captain Lin also sees the medicine there. Captain Chen and the others examine the clothes that caught fire and discover that the way the buttons were sewn is the same as the clothes they found earlier. They investigate and find out that it was Aunt Miao's tailor shop that sewed the buttons that way.
Si Mao comes to find Aunt Miao and tells her that she has been exposed, urging her to leave quickly. Aunt Miao was initially planning to leave, but unexpectedly, Si Mao suddenly stabs her, saying that he had no choice. Captain Chen and the others rush over and find that Aunt Miao is already dead, leaving no message behind. While inspecting the area, they find a radio, confirming that this place is indeed where the enemy operates.
The theme is good, but the show is terrible. It relies solely on the acting skills of Bai Hui and Doctor Bai to support it, while the other characters have virtually no room to shine, merely displaying one expression.
1. The plot is full of bugs, and there are many aspects that are hard to swallow. The spy succeeds in every sabotage mission, and the progress of the submarine mysteriously reaches completion.

Every time the police arrest someone, there are only one or two officers, and the rest of the team arrives after the mission is over.
3. Whenever the female lead guesses correctly, there is no further development.
Without Doctor Bai's guidance, there would likely be no progress throughout the entire story. Meanwhile, the other side may have already completed their mission.
4. Doctor Bai has so much screen time, it would have been much better to have him as an undercover agent for the CPC with the identity of "Huamei." Getting shot in the heart didn't even matter.
5. There is no sense of secrecy whatsoever, and every progress is leaked without exception. If things were really portrayed like this in a TV show, the entire story of the expert group would've been lost right from the beginning.
It's a waste of a good theme, relying solely on the Bai family father-daughter duo for support. There's really nothing else worth watching.
