Episode 35 recap: The experiment ended smoothly.
When Bai Ming Han came out, he happened to see Ge Yun and they talked about Chu Huai Qiu's poisoning. Bai Ming Han felt it was likely that she was poisoned through her mouth, but Ge Yun thought it was impossible because the items from the expert group undergo strict inspections. There shouldn't be anything poisonous. Chu Huai Qiu was simply overworked, which had happened a few times before.
Bai Ming Han came to find Miao Shen and talked about the mercury leak in the laboratory, expressing concern because his daughter was still there. He said that if anything happened to their daughters, he wouldn't let it go. Captain Chen and the others found the design blueprints at the tailor shop and were shocked by what they saw. Pang Hong Mei was surprised to learn about the leaked blueprint of the experiment chamber and wondered how such an accident could occur.
Captain Chen believed that this indicated there was a mole in their factory. Currently, there are three copies of the blueprints, so there must have been a problem somewhere. Captain Chen called out Luo Shan Shan and inspected her belongings, unexpectedly finding a wrench. Luo Shan Shan was shocked and claimed that the wrench wasn't hers, and she didn't know how it ended up in her pocket.
Pang Hong Mei has recovered and came to see Bai Ming Han, showing him a key and asking if he recognized it. Bai Ming Han said he had never seen such a key. Pang Hong Mei explained that someone had sent her the key and regardless of who sent it, they helped her find her father's remains, so she wanted to express her gratitude.
Now and then, there are vibrations coming from the experiment chamber, which Ji Dan Yang and the others find strange. Ding Jie thinks it may be caused by explosions at the nearby Dahua Copper Mine and decides to go check. Pang Hong Mei and Ji Dan Yang come to the cave to investigate, and Ji Dan Yang notices that something is off about the marks in the cave. They don't seem like the result of an explosion.
Pang Hong Mei and the others inspect the area behind the small hill and discover a cave opposite their experiment chamber's air-raid shelter.
Sima brought explosives to the cave, and they have now dug up a concrete wall. They believe that once they blast through this wall, they will have access to what they want. However, the others are unwilling to participate, as they believe that once explosives are used, the police will surely find out. Even if they obtain the desired items, it would come at great risk. Pang Hong Mei and the others enter the cave to investigate and discover that the explosives have already been ignited. Ding Jie escorts everyone out, and Pang Hong Mei and Captain Chen quickly cut the fuse. Fortunately, they prevented the cave from being blown up.
The experiments in the experimental chamber have been completed, and Chu Huai Qiu has also arrived. Chu Huai Qiu states that Ji Dan Yang is the overall commander and asks him to make an announcement. Bai Hui expresses that he used to think numbers were cold, but over the past 20 days, everyone has shown incredible perseverance, making him realize that these data have warmth and passion.
Ji Dan Yang announces the success of the survival experiment, and everyone is delighted. Pang Hong Mei returns to the hospital, and Bai Hui comes to administer medicine to her, questioning why she went out when she is not fully recovered. Pang Hong Mei insists that she is fine now. Li Pei Zhang informs Captain Chen that the different peptide metal contents were individually numbered, and now one piece is missing.
Captain Chen investigates the titanium metal with Chu Huai Qiu and Director Han. He discovers that six pieces of titanium metal from Director Han's side are suspicious, with one matching the missing piece from Li Pei Zhang's side. This means that someone stole a piece of titanium metal from Director Han's side and replaced it with one stolen from Li Pei Zhang.
Director Han believes that Lu Cheng must be responsible since he is the only one who has access to his office.
Lu Cheng initially fell into Bai Hui's manipulation because he had no idea that Bai Hui was a spy. He always believed that Bai Hui was adopted by the orphanage's teacher and forced into this situation.
Additionally, Bai Hui repeatedly tempted Lu Cheng with the idea of living a good life in Hong Kong, which led Lu Cheng to get involved. However, when Lu Cheng was awakened by the factory director's words and learned that Bai Hui was a spy, he didn't choose to defend Bai Hui.
Instead, he confronted Bai Hui and severed ties with her. This shows that Lu Cheng is an upright comrade. If Lu Cheng had continued to defend Bai Hui even after knowing that he was being used, I would have looked down on him.
But he didn't. Although he made some mistakes due to his emotions towards Bai Hui, he ultimately awakened and realized his errors. I want to applaud Lu Cheng for not continuing down the wrong path because of his emotions.
