Episode 24 recap: Qi Lian sought a kiss from Jiang Xiao Yuan.
It has been two weeks since Qi Lian returned from Chongqing to Luoshan City. Even though he did nothing, the people from Mingguang Laboratory still kept a close eye on him. After Ad noticed that the people from Mingguang Laboratory had left, he called Qi Lian to ask if he needed to follow them. Qi Lian didn't want to alert them, so he told Ad not to follow for the time being. He carefully recalled the events of the past few years and speculated that he was one of the first subjects of the Mingguang Laboratory and that he was the successful one. Later, the Mingguang Laboratory appeared to have disappeared, but in reality, it was still operating in secret. Jiang Xiao Yuan and Huo Bai Yu were the subjects recruited later. Jiang Xiao Yuan realized that something was wrong and fled because her memories had been altered, and she always believed that she was a time traveler.

He also wondered why they chose to monitor Jiang Xiao Yuan instead of capturing her after her escape.
Qi Lian analyzed that the timing of the report filed by Mengma Studio was too clever, successfully turning them from suspects into victims. He believed that Mengma Studio was definitely connected to the Mingguang Laboratory and decided to investigate in that direction. He already had a suspect in mind. Jiang Xiao Yuan felt conflicted when she saw Qi Lian in the alley on her way back after buying things so late at night, as she needed to leave for a business trip the next day.
Qi Lian held onto Jiang Xiao Yuan, who wanted to leave, and refused to let go no matter how she rejected him. He took the initiative to kiss Jiang Xiao Yuan, and Jiang Xiao Yuan reciprocated the feelings in her heart. Jiang Xiao Yuan and Jiang Bo flew to Guangzhou. After they arrived at their destination, Jiang Xiao Yuan, as an assistant, was pushing a large and small pile of luggage. However, she accidentally dropped her phone when passing through the revolving door. She quickly went back to pick it up, but Jiang Bo saw that her hand was about to get caught and quickly reached out to help. As a result, his hand got injured. While reprimanding Jiang Xiao Yuan for treating her phone too carelessly, he asked her to quickly bring him an ice pack because the hand was crucial for a makeup artist.
Jiang Bo received a runway makeup job today, requiring all the makeup artists to accurately replicate the look. Jiang Xiao Yuan knew that Jiang Bo's hand was injured because of her, so she assisted him by anticipating the tools he needed and providing them. Jiang Xiao Yuan was eager to learn and followed Jiang Bo to observe the work of the other makeup artists. Accidentally touching someone else's hand, she was met with disapproval, and Jiang Bo ended up kicking her out of the makeup room. In the lobby, Jiang Xiao Yuan saw the registration for an intermediate makeup artist assessment, but she didn't meet the requirements and was rejected outright. Considering Jiang Bo's position, Jiang Xiao Yuan hoped he would write her a recommendation letter. However, Jiang Bo considered it a way of using connections and refused. This made Jiang Xiao Yuan angry, blaming Jiang Bo for looking down on her and suggesting that if he didn't value her, he should stop hiring her as an assistant. She made it clear that her time was limited and she needed to make her dreams come true quickly, becoming a makeup artist whom even Jiang Bo couldn't afford to hire.
Seeing Jiang Xiao Yuan's hard work and natural talent, Jiang Bo relented and gave her an opportunity. He agreed to write her a recommendation letter if she could perfectly replicate the makeup look he had done that day. As a makeup artist, Jiang Xiao Yuan needed a model, but all the models that day were female. Male and female facial proportions are different, and Jiang Xiao Yuan was uncertain. Jiang Bo provoked her, and surprisingly, Jiang Xiao Yuan reproduced the look accurately. This astonished Jiang Bo because he remembered that Jiang Xiao Yuan had never learned sculpting, but she claimed to have learned it in her dreams.
Jiang Bo recalled his youth when he learned makeup secretly to become an outstanding makeup artist before his mother found him. However, his mother found him sooner than he expected and, in order to prevent him from becoming a makeup artist, she even injured his hand. This was a deep pain in Jiang Bo's heart.
Qi Lian discovered that Zhuang Meng Beauty Academy belonged to Fan Xiao Xiao and realized that Jiang Xiao Yuan was currently studying there. This made him feel anxious and worried.
