Episode 11 recap: Chu Qi investigates the truth.
Wu Xu said they should leave first because they are currently no match for the mayor and his people. They need to investigate the case thoroughly in order to have a chance of saving Chu Qi. Gu Yu Sheng doesn't have any other options at the moment, so they have to leave with Wu Xu. After Wu Xu returns, he instructs his subordinate Li Fei to investigate any clues related to this murder case.
Chu Qi is also thinking about the case and has figured out the key details. He believes that these cases are likely related to the mayor. The mayor comes to meet Wu Xu and admits that he didn't actually intend to harm Chu Qi. It was all because Chu Qi insisted on investigating these matters.
Chu Qi reveals that both the coffin shop owner and the paper-cutting shop owner were killed by the mayor, and the mayor admits to it. His real name is Jia Biao, and he used to be the leader of a gang of thieves. They stole the treasures from the Yin Wang Temple and hid them here for convenience. However, they were discovered by others in the town who took the treasures away.
The mayor pretended to be the emissary of the King of the Underworld and killed those who took the treasures. Furthermore, because his own subordinates betrayed him and tried to use this incident to blackmail him, the mayor also killed those subordinates. Later, when someone came to investigate this matter, the mayor resorted to the same strategy and killed that person too.
