Episode 22 recap: Gu Yu Sheng passed away.
Wu Xu and Gu Yu Sheng rushed over. The mayor instructed them to tie themselves up, or else he would kill Chu Qi directly. Wu Xu and Gu Yu Sheng had no choice but to put down their guns and tie themselves to the chairs nearby. The mayor asked Chu Qi to choose who should live between the two of them. If he didn't choose, the mayor would make the decision himself and randomly kill one person.
Chu Qi urged the mayor to release them and asked that any issues be directed towards him, without harming them. Gu Yu Sheng finally managed to break free and rushed over, engaging in a fight with the mayor. Gu Yu Sheng knocked the mayor down and came over to release Chu Qi from the ropes. However, to his surprise, the mayor suddenly got up, pulled out a gun, and aimed it in their direction.
Wu Xu struggled to break free and tried to push the mayor away, but he was too late. Gu Yu Sheng was shot and fell to the ground. Chu Qi quickly embraced Gu Yu Sheng, deeply saddened, and promised to take him to the hospital immediately, urging him to hold on.
Gu Yu Sheng felt that there was no hope for himself and that his feelings for Chu Qi were never like those for a family member. Wu Xu witnessed Gu Yu Sheng's condition and was also filled with sorrow. The mayor, intending to die together with Chu Qi and the others, stood up and prepared to shoot. However, Shi San arrived with a gun and shot multiple times, killing the mayor.
