Episode 6 recap: Chu Qi had a hallucination.
In the middle of the night, Chu Qi saw the silly son of the village mayor. She followed him outside and ended up coming across an abandoned house, where she saw the matchmaker hanging from the roof. Chu Qi was greatly surprised. She heard someone calling her from outside, so she chased after the voice and discovered it was actually Shi San.
Chu Qi was happy to see Shi San, but Shi San didn't have a pleasant expression. He believed that if Chu Qi truly cared about him, she would have returned to the orphanage to look for him instead of waiting until he went missing. Chu Qi quickly explained that it wasn't the case, but Shi San didn't listen.
Shi San grabbed hold of Chu Qi. Wu Xu came over and witnessed Chu Qi strangling herself in the deserted area. Wu Xu hurriedly woke Chu Qi up, and when she regained consciousness, she noticed they were very close to each other, which made her feel somewhat awkward. Chu Qi burst into tears and hugged Wu Xu, who could only comfort her by holding her.
Wu Xu recounted what had just happened. Chu Qi was surprised and couldn't believe she was strangling herself. The townspeople didn't believe that the matchmaker was dead; they thought Chu Qi and the others might have hidden her. The mayor didn't want them to continue investigating and directly drove Chu Qi, Wu Xu, and their group away, believing that disaster followed their arrival.
Wu Xu agreed and said they could leave.
