Episode 17 recap: Liang Jing confronts Wang Hai.
Liang Jing sent a video to Wang Hai, making it clear that their affair with Shanshan is now exposed. Wang Hai tries to pass it off as a one-time accident, but Liang Jing had already installed surveillance cameras throughout their home. She had seen Wang Hai and Shanshan together at least ten times. Unable to dismiss the evidence, Wang Hai becomes infuriated when he receives the agreement for a clean break that Liang Jing prepared for him. He tries to argue that the evidence in Liang Jing's possession is not admissible, but Liang Jing threatens to upload the evidence to the internet, which would undoubtedly ruin his reputation.
After considering his options, Wang Hai ultimately decides to give in. He signs the agreement on the spot. However, he has already calculated that both his company and house are mortgaged, so Liang Jing won't get a penny. What he didn't anticipate is that Liang Jing had already prepared a backup plan. Gu Yan, the lawyer, was arranged by Liang Jing herself. It is at this moment that Wang Hai realizes he has fallen into Liang Jing's trap. He angrily accuses Liang Jing of orchestrating everything to gain control over the company shares and property. However, Liang Jing is well aware that these assets rightfully belong to her and she intends to reclaim them.
After Liang Jing leaves, Wang Hai harbors resentment, while Shanshan sits in front of the mirror like a ghost. She reflects on how she deliberately approached Wang Hai and took advantage of him while he was intoxicated, realizing that she has become a joke. When Liang Jing confirms that she is not pregnant, Shanshan's thoughts are consumed by her ongoing rivalry with Liang Jing. In a fit of madness, she laughs hysterically while stuffing pills into her mouth.
