Episode 4 recap: "Liang Jing felt deeply hurt by the betrayal.
Liang Jing had already discovered Wang Hai's affair with Shan Shan, but out of consideration for their past relationship as a married couple, she wanted to give Wang Hai a chance. She reminded him that honesty was the most important aspect of a marriage and that occasional mistakes could be forgiven. Wang Hai brought up Liang Jing's visit to the company the day before, indicating that he knew what she was thinking. He swore that there was absolutely nothing going on between him and Li Yan. When Liang Jing pressed him about any involvement with someone else, Wang Hai bluntly told her to put her suspicions aside, claiming that he was a trustworthy person.
Liang Jing felt extremely downhearted and sought solace alone on the rooftop. It was then that Liu Xing appeared. It turned out that he knew something was troubling Liang Jing and couldn't rest easy, so he had rushed back from the United States to be with her. Liang Jing was very confused. She had devoted so much to this family, yet the two closest people to her had betrayed her, causing her great pain.
Liu Xing understood Liang Jing's feelings and encouraged her to shout at the sea, releasing her pent-up frustrations. When Liang Jing returned home, hearing the sounds of chopping in the kitchen, she could already imagine the shameless behavior of Shan Shan and Wang Hai, along with the indulgence of her mother-in-law. This made her unable to suppress her anger any longer. She immediately accused Wang Hai of lacking morality, behaving like an animal, desiring immediate gratification and engaging in a sordid affair with Shan Shan. Thinking about how she had been supporting Shan Shan with food and drink all along, she couldn't help but grab Shan Shan, pour a jug of wine over her head, and then grab the knife from the table and thrust it towards Wang Hai, who was continuously blaming her."
