Episode 4 recap: Lin Xin's career took a nosedive upon returning to the company.
Xia Li transformed her clothing store with a new style and went out of her way to recommend items to customers, complimenting them on how good they looked. She helped boost the confidence of many girls who left satisfied, promising to return. Xia Li was delighted with the positive response. At that moment, the girl who had previously sought Xia Li's assistance in altering a dress came over to express her gratitude. However, Xia Li seemed to have no recollection of her.
Having not driven a car for a long time, Lin Xin decided to indulge in some gaming at home. Coincidentally, Xia Li returned from work and found Lin Xin immersed in playing a game. Xia Li observed Lin Xin using her face as a steering wheel. Initially, Lin Xin thought Xia Li would be angry, considering it a diversion from work. Surprisingly, Xia Li was touched and even asked Lin Xin to teach her how to drive. This made Lin Xin very happy.
During Lin Xin's break, she planned to buy groceries from the supermarket to cook for Xia Li. While there, she happened to see the chocolates sold by her company on the shelves, but they were priced very cheaply. Lin Xin was skeptical at first, but after tasting one, she found that they were indeed authentic. She quickly called her colleagues to inquire about the situation.
Upon returning home, Lin Xin complained to Xia Li about the overly inexpensive chocolate. She decided to end her leave of absence and return to the company to investigate the situation. Xia Li fully supported Lin Xin's decision. Early in the morning, Xia Li prepared a meal, but Lin Xin found it difficult to fit into her trousers due to the protective gear she was wearing. Xia Li simply cut off the pant leg without any regret, considering it a new style rather than a waste, despite the pants being expensive.
Upon arriving at the company, Lin Xin harshly reprimanded her subordinates. At that moment, a rival colleague approached and told them not to pay attention to Lin Xin anymore, as he would be taking charge of the company's affairs from now on. Furious, Lin Xin confronted the leader, who claimed it was his own directive.
The leader called a colleague in for an explanation, and Lin Xin wanted to regain control of her project. However, there were certain tasks that would no longer be assigned to Lin Xin, and the leader was not currently taking her side. Lin Xin was furious but couldn't do anything at the moment since her subordinates had been reassigned by her colleague, Louis.
In the end, Louis gave Lin Xin a health drink to sell. Lin Xin was extremely angry, but she didn't have any other projects in her hands, so she reluctantly agreed. Louis was now facing difficulties in trying to sell the chocolates without incurring losses. He even approached celebrities for endorsements, but their fees were quite high, which posed a dilemma for Louis.
Feeling frustrated when she got home, Lin Xin could only vent her feelings to her cat. At that moment, Xia Li returned, and Lin Xin told her about the beverage promotion. Xia Li tasted it but found the flavor not very appealing. Nonetheless, Xia Li remained supportive of Lin Xin.
With no other options, Lin Xin went to seek inspiration from her colleagues in the evening. When it was time for work, Lin Xin informed the leader that she intended to target colleagues in the fitness industry for the sales. Initially confident in promoting the beverage at gyms, Lin Xin faced disappointment as no gym was willing to cooperate. Exhausted, she sat on the roadside to rest.
Later, Lin Xin arrived at her good friend's gym, but her friend pretended not to recognize her, and she was even mocked by other colleagues. Lin Xin was furious and went out to drink to release her frustration. When she returned home, Lin Xin drank all the beverages and ended up getting drunk. Xia Li was deeply concerned upon seeing Lin Xin in that state. She felt sorry for Lin Xin but didn't know how to help. For now, all Xia Li could do was stay by Lin Xin's side.
