Episode 12 recap: General Liang led his men to forcefully invade the royal mansion.
At the frontlines, Prince Qi suddenly came under attack by an assassin. Li Yuer, with her long sword, pierced Prince Qi with a single strike. Back at the Qi Mansion, Cheng Biyuan had a nightmare, screaming for the prince to wake up from her dream. Mu Yuan hurriedly arrived to deliver a message to Cheng Biyuan, informing her that Prince Qi, Zhao Fengpan, had gone missing at the frontlines, and his fate was unknown. Cheng Biyuan was deeply saddened upon hearing the news, but she believed that Prince Qi would surely return victorious.
Mu Yuan swiftly departed to gather more information, while Cheng Biyuan lost her appetite at home. Just then, a servant came to report that General Liang had surrounded the mansion with his troops. Cheng Biyuan quickly went out to investigate, questioning Liang about his intentions. Liang coldly smiled and said that Prince Qi, entrusted with the task of escorting provisions, had inexplicably disappeared, suspecting him of treason. He had come that day to search the mansion and uncover evidence of Prince Qi's betrayal.
Cheng Biyuan vehemently denounced his malicious intentions, and the people in the mansion refused to cooperate. Liang sneered at her audacity, mocking her as a mere kitchen maid who dared to defy him. Cheng Biyuan presented the jade pendant given to her by Prince Qi, warning Liang that she had been personally bestowed the title of Prince Qi's consort. She declared that everyone in the mansion would stand united for better or worse, and if anyone dared to enter and cause harm, they would fight to the death.
Liang paid no heed to the mansion's servants and directly ordered his soldiers to charge in. Thus, a bloody and violent scene unfolded at the entrance of the mansion. Witnessing the casualties among the mansion's occupants, Cheng Biyuan was filled with anguish. Just as Liang ordered his men to target Cheng Biyuan, Prince Qi returned in the nick of time. He shot an arrow, killing the soldier who intended to harm Cheng Biyuan. Liang was taken aback and stumbled over his words. Seeing Liang, Prince Qi's eyes turned bloodshot, and he kicked him to the ground with a single blow.
