Episode 16 recap: The Grand Minister Liang Yi deserved to be executed for his crimes.

The Emperor has heard all the accusations against Grand Minister Liang by Prince Qi, but after seeing the Emperor, Liang refuses to admit guilt. He relies on his age and loudly claims innocence, accusing Prince Qi of framing him. The Emperor asks Prince Qi to present evidence, and Li Yuer rushes in with a token and a secret letter, saying that this is the evidence. The Emperor takes them and throws them at Grand Minister Liang, asking if he has anything else to say. Despite nearing death, Grand Minister Liang tries to make a desperate struggle. He suddenly pulls out a sword from one of his guards and prepares to harm the Emperor.

Prince Qi, quick-witted, draws his sword and engages in a fight with him. Within moments, he strikes Liang Yi down with a single sword strike. Liang An'er, witnessing her father's death, rushes forward and bursts into tears. Initially, the Emperor intended to execute the entire Liang family, but Prince Qi steps forward to plead for mercy for Liang An'er. The Emperor agrees and spares the rest of the Liang household. As it turns out, when Li Yuer attempted to assassinate Prince Qi, he discovered that she was the Princess of Xiliang. Due to her father being held captive by the King of Runan, she was forced to act under someone else's control. Prince Qi persuaded her to make a deal with him, leading to the current situation.

Prince Qi quietly returns to his residence, but is discovered by Cheng Biyuan. He asks why she hasn't slept yet, and Cheng Biyuan angrily responds that if she were to sleep, who would keep vigil over him? Cheng Biyuan is displeased with Prince Qi's feigned deaths in the past. Prince Qi realizes that he can't hide anything from Cheng Biyuan and apologizes, promising that he won't do it again in the future. Cheng Biyuan grabs his clothes and tells him to take them off. Startled, Prince Qi hastily says that it's not appropriate to undress at the moment, and suggests waiting until after the imperial wedding to do so.
