Episode 11 recap: Peng Yu'an prevented Xu Nuoyan from meeting her father, Cong Shan, at the restaurant.
After leaving the restaurant, Xu Nuoyan told Peng Yu'an that he didn't need to be present when she went to meet her father. Peng Yu'an reluctantly agreed to do as she said. Xu Nuoyan was curious about whether Peng Yu'an liked Cong Shan or not. Peng Yu'an immediately denied it, saying that their relationship wasn't what she imagined. Xu Nuoyan said that since things had come to this point, he didn't want to hide anymore.
In frustration, Peng Yu'an said that it was Cong Shan who liked him and had been pursuing him, but he had never liked Cong Shan. Angry, Peng Yu'an drove away. Zhao Jin took care of customers carefully at the veterinary hospital, and her colleague Shan Shan wanted to invite Zhao Jin to dinner and try to get some information from him, but Zhao Jin didn't want to say too much.
Their boss also said that it was a good thing that Zhao Jin was in love, and everyone wanted to know the details. Zhao Jin insisted on waiting until things were settled before telling everyone. Zhao Jin came to pick up Zhao Qin after work and learned that Xu Nuoyan had gone out in the afternoon. Zhao Qin urged Zhao Jin to hurry, as she was eager to attend her brother's wedding with Xu Nuoyan, whom she already considered as family.
At night, Xu Nuoyan received a call from Zhao Jin, who told her what Zhao Qin had said. However, Xu Nuoyan told Zhao Jin that she considered him her lover in her heart. Xu Nuoyan told Zhao Jin that they should love each other well and not disappoint Zhao Qin. Xu Nuoyan's father came to find Peng Yu'an and asked if their relationship had been restored. Peng Yu'an said that it was not his concern and that Xu Nuoyan was going to meet her father today.
When Xu Nuoyan's father heard that Xu Nuoyan was going to meet Peng's father alone, he was worried that his daughter might say something wrong and upset Peng's father. He also mentioned Peng Yu'an's investment in the laundry shop, but Peng Yu'an said that he had forgotten about it because he was busy. After seeing off Xu Nuoyan's father, Peng Yu'an thought about what he had said and called his own father to cancel the meeting with Xu Nuoyan.
Meanwhile, Xu Nuoyan was still waiting for Peng's father at the agreed-upon place until Peng Yu'an called and said that Peng's father had something urgent and couldn't come for the meeting. Xu Nuoyan angrily questioned why it was always them who had something urgent and whether she was so free. Peng Yu'an said that he would come over, but Xu Nuoyan said there was no need and that she wanted to tell Peng's father herself that she couldn't marry Peng Yu'an. Since they couldn't meet, she asked him to deliver the message.
When Xu Nuoyan returned home, her mother already knew about her determination to break up with Peng Yu'an and angrily reprimanded her. She said that after ten years of a relationship, Xu's family had taken care of them, and Xu Nuoyan shouldn't be oblivious to that. Xu Nuoyan said that she no longer had any feelings, but her mother angrily stated that she was no longer a young girl in her twenties and needed to face reality.
Grandmother saw Xu's mother in a hysterical state and tried to persuade her not to push Xu Nuoyan anymore. Xu's mother was speechless with anger and locked herself in her room, crying. Peng Yu'an received a call from his father, who impatiently questioned him about Xu Nuoyan, asking why they had agreed to meet but she didn't show up. Peng Yu'an explained that Xu Nuoyan had some last-minute issues at the flower shop. Peng's father urged Peng to break up with Xu Nuoyan as soon as possible.
Sitting in his car, Peng Yu'an looked at the ring he had prepared for Xu Nuoyan. Cong Shan noticed it and asked him suspiciously what he was doing. Peng Yu'an found an excuse to cover up the situation. When Zhao Jin learned that Xu Nuoyan had gone to the seaside alone, he rushed there anxiously and embraced her, asking her to promise not to change her mind. Xu Nuoyan held onto Zhao Jin tightly and asked him to promise a lifetime commitment. Zhao Jin thought that this matter could be dealt with after they grew old, but Xu Nuoyan insisted that she wanted a commitment now and couldn't let go.
Zhao Jin asked if Xu's mother had pressured her, and Xu Nuoyan said that her mother was just worried that she was too focused on an intangible love and had forgotten about reality. Zhao Jin bluntly pointed out that her mother was only concerned about whether Xu Nuoyan's future husband would have money. They agreed to have a meal together, and Zhao Jin asked Xu Nuoyan to choose the place. Xu Nuoyan took Zhao Jin to the western restaurant where she used to go with Peng Yu'an.
Meanwhile, Peng Yu'an and Cong Shan were already seated at the restaurant. The waiter recommended a couple's set menu to them, but Peng Yu'an proudly stated that they didn't come here for a set menu. Cong Shan took the menu and ordered for herself. When Zhao Jin and Xu Nuoyan arrived, there was a reservation that didn't show up, and Zhao Jin felt embarrassed holding the menu. Xu Nuoyan tactfully said that she needed to use the restroom and Zhao Jin ordered the couple's set menu.
Xu Nuoyan and Cong Shan happened to face each other, nodding in acknowledgment as a greeting. Xu Nuoyan and Cong Shan met in the restroom, where Xu Nuoyan confidently introduced the man as her boyfriend. Cong Shan advised her that a breakup shouldn't be too dignified. When Peng Yu'an settled the bill, he saw Xu Nuoyan having dinner with someone but didn't go over to say hello. Zhao Jin also noticed that Peng Yu'an and Cong Shan were dining there.
