Episode 13 recap: Zhao Jin and Xu Nuo started dating, but Peng Yu'an was unwilling to break up with Xu Nuo.
When Peng Yu'an heard Xu Nuo openly saying that she no longer loved him, he couldn't believe it. He questioned Xu Nuo if she had decided to be with Zhao Jin. Xu Nuo said it was her own business and apologized, admitting that she no longer loved him and had been pretending to do so. Xu Nuo broke free from Peng Yu'an's embrace, turned around, and went back home, leaving Peng Yu'an alone in the wind.
Back at home, Xu Nuo called Zhao Jin and asked him how he had overcome his past sadness. Zhao Jin said he entrusted everything to time, as time can heal everything. Zhao Jin comforted Xu Nuo, saying that she and Peng Yu'an had been together for so many years, and it would take time to resolve their issues. Zhao Jin told Xu Nuo that she could gradually come to him without rushing.
Xu Nuo went home with flowers to visit her grandmother. Her grandmother knew she must have something going on, but no matter what Xu Nuo did, she would support her because she wanted her granddaughter to live happily. However, her grandmother asked her to consider her mother's difficulties as well. Xu Nuo mentioned that her father, Ren Jun, had returned, and her grandmother jokingly said that she would break his legs as long as she saw him.
Yu'an went to Cong Shan's place, and Cong Shan could tell that he was not in a good mood. Peng Yu'an said he went to find Xu Nuo, and in the end, they agreed to give each other some time to carefully consider their next steps. Cong Shan seemingly indifferent, said that he always said that, wasn't there anything new? Peng Yu'an then requested some time from Cong Shan, who replied that he always had time.
Peng Yu'an said he would definitely give Cong Shan an explanation. Peng Yu'an met Xu Yang at the boxing gym, and Xu Yang apologized to him. Xu Nuo went to the pet hospital to find Zhao Jin, and when the owner, Sister Hong, saw her, she deliberately came out to greet Xu Nuo. Xu Nuo and Zhao Jin went for coffee together, and Xu Nuo openly told Zhao Jin that she had fallen in love with him. Zhao Jin was ecstatic, he abruptly opened the door and looked at the night sky at a forty-five-degree angle. When Xu Nuo came out, she saw his eyes moist, and Zhao Jin quickly pretended that something had gotten into his eyes.
Xu's mother went to the flower shop to find Xu Nuo, and coincidentally, Peng Yu'an called her to invite her for a meal, but Xu Nuo directly refused. Angry, Xu's mother turned her head and walked away. Zhao Qin saw the two of them looking upset and knew that their conversation hadn't gone well. Back at home, Zhao Qin told Zhao Jin about the situation, and Zhao Jin seemed lost in thought upon hearing it.
In the evening, Xu Nuo arrived at her mother's laundry shop but didn't go inside. When she turned around with a worried expression on her face, she found Zhao Jin standing behind her with a smile. Xu Nuo ran towards him with a joyful expression, asking how he knew she was there. Both of them were filled with excitement. Zhao Jin held Xu Nuo and said he regretted not holding her hand earlier.
He embraced Xu Nuo affectionately, and they shared their first kiss. Xu Nuo wanted to have dessert, so they went into a dessert shop by the roadside. Xu Nuo chose her favorite dessert, and they enjoyed a sweet and warm moment together. Peng Yu'an dropped Cong Shan off at home and noticed the dessert shop. Since Cong Shan wanted to have dessert, Peng Yu'an offered to buy it and asked her to wait in the car.
However, when Peng Yu'an entered the shop, he saw Zhao Jin and Xu Nuo. Peng Yu'an immediately rushed over in excitement, but Xu Nuo quickly stood between them. Peng Yu'an urged Xu Nuo to come to her senses and reminded her that she was with Zhao Jin out of sympathy for him. Zhao Jin angrily grabbed Peng Yu'an's collar, and Xu Nuo told him to let go. Cong Shan also entered the shop and, upon seeing the situation, turned and left. Peng Yu'an followed after her.
Not wanting to go home, Xu Nuo took Zhao Jin to her mother's laundry shop. However, her father also arrived, so Xu Nuo quickly led Zhao Jin out through the back door. Xu Yang went to find Shi Ran with flowers, and they reconciled. Peng Yu'an, heavily intoxicated, called his father and complained about how his life had been manipulated, resulting in him becoming a laughingstock.
