Episode 22 recap: Zhao Jin, while intoxicated, said hurtful words to Xu Nuo. Xu Nuo began to suspect her own feelings for Zhao Jin.
Zhao Qin's condition worsened due to her recent escapade, which angered the doctors. Zhao Qin apologized to various countries, while Zhao Jin told her not to overthink it and return to the hospital. Zhao Jin knew that her sister longed for their mother, so she attempted to call their mother, whom they hadn't heard from in years. However, the phone number was no longer in service.
Zhou Hong came to inform Zhao Jin that their father had visited her yesterday and was concerned about the relationship between Zhao Jin and Xu Nuo. Zhao Jin expressed understanding for both her father and mother, but who would understand her sister? Upon hearing a noise outside the door, Xu Nuo knew it was Zhao Jin returning. She joyfully ran upstairs but was surprised to see Tian Mu Chu offering hangover tea to Zhao Jin. Xu Nuo was taken aback, and Tian Mu Chu awkwardly left Zhao Jin's house.
Xu Nuo entered the room to see Zhao Jin, whose gaze was unfocused. Zhao Jin asked Xu Nuo if she would abandon him and whether he should trust her or not. Xu Nuo was puzzled by his questions, and Zhao Jin repeatedly pressed her for answers. Xu Nuo was torn inside, but she told Zhao Jin that he should rest since he had drunk too much today and they could talk about it tomorrow.
Disappointed, Zhao Jin asked Xu Nuo to leave. Xu Nuo returned to Shi Ran's house and shared what had happened, feeling depressed and ready to leave. Shi Ran and Xu Yang saw Xu Nuo off downstairs, where they encountered Tian Mu Chu. Tian Mu Chu asked Xu Nuo if she had anything to ask her, but Xu Nuo said she didn't.
After Tian Mu Chu left, Shi Ran was dissatisfied that Xu Nuo let Tian Mu Chu off so easily without asking any questions despite having so many doubts in her mind.
Xu Yang tried to persuade Shi Ran not to pressure Xu Nuo, but Shi Ran turned around and got angry with Xu Yang.
When Xu Nuo returned home, she found Peng Yu An opening her door. He had been drinking and thought of Xu Nuo. Xu Nuo used Zhao Jin's words to ask Peng Yu An if he believed her or not, because she had hurt him once before. However, Peng Yu An said he believed in Xu Nuo. Xu Nuo sighed deeply and let Peng Yu An go.
The next morning, Zhao Jin woke up and found Xu Yang sleeping on the couch. He woke Xu Yang up and asked him why he was sleeping in his house. Xu Yang said it was all because of him and told Zhao Jin everything that had happened yesterday. Zhao Jin realized that he had said things he shouldn't have said the previous night.
Zhao Jin called Xu Nuo, but Xu Nuo didn't answer. While Zhao Jin was busy, Xu Nuo came to find him. Seeing that he was busy, she didn't disturb him. After Zhao Jin finished his work and saw Xu Nuo's missed call, he quickly called her back. He apologized incoherently over the phone and finally said he wanted to meet Xu Nuo and talk.
